What modifications do you need to do to the bulkhead to fit the swift motor?? Do you have to go down the flip front road or will it fit in a round nose or a clubby without mods??

You can do the conversion without any modification to the bulkhead but you will need a mk1 inlet manifold. We modified the bulkhead and moved brake cylinder back. We originally started with a fixed front but decided to go to a flip front as it was alot easier to work on the engine.

Pete hasn't posted on here for a while, so I thought I'd share a video from the autumn

the camera is mounted on the rear screen...

and the road goes uphill after the turn !

the reason for the pause is that I am a chicken driver

I was brought up to belive that the cross hatchings are a brick wall (lol)

eyzjCr8jb_M

We've increased the size of the exhaust since then and done some fettling to the intake system..

Nice! Looks rather pokey! :D

Just realised, you're only down the road from me, thought I recognised the Cookley/Wolverley junction!

This is very interesting to me - in the US we can find running but rusty swifts for very little money. What concerns me about these swaps is that I don’t want to blow my fender wells out, my car sees year round use. I don’t want crap and rocks thrown up onto the engine. Is there another place for that alt?

Most people who do this conversion have it up under the wheel well as there is no room for it behind the engine due to the suspension tower.I am doing one of this conversions(must start thread) and I have mounted the alternator up under the wing.I am doing it in a Clubman and have retained most of the inner wing and I will be making a cover for the alternator so I cannot see any reason how dirt will get thrown up into the engine bay any more than normal.
