Thanks for all the pictures! :D

Go people still have the bonnet catch with the straps? Just can't see the point in me transfering the spring part over to my new bonnet if there is no need.

Cheers
Dan

I have kept mine, I think to get it to work right without the catch and the bonnet not to rattle/chatter about would be a pain in the arrrrrse.

Well I have the bonnet and its fitted but had to tape it down as I needed to take it to the body shop this morning :D

Also I probs won't be able to get any bonnet straps until Bingley and its a 70 mile drive one way so think i will have to put the spring thing on to stop it bouncing up and down on the way there

i havent bothered with the lock mechanism as i found to bonnet never sat right, as for rattling a strip of self adhesive foam was added and the bonnet sits real nice to,, its your call, im not likely to be leaving mine in the street very often at all so im not worried about people trying to open it, i think with the straps it could possibly draw the theives in as they will think they can get in easier,, where as usually they are too dumb to do a bit of homework and realise most minis are external release bonnet catch anyway..

I'm not too bothered about haivng the catch to be honest as it is external release anyway so if somone wants to open it its not exactly hard to do :proud: Should have my straps sorted for Bingley as it is currently tied down with a bit of wire

Hi all, I have now bought a pair of bonnet straps but I am wanting to fit my Mk1 grill before I fit the bonnet straps, how have people attached theirs? I intend on using grille buttons but is this all I need? there doesn't seem to be many places to screw it on

Thanks
Dan
