its originally a ka dash with the back cut off and the sides with a home made binnacle put in. tip wise, personaly if you want to make your own fibre one i would get lots of different dashs you like or even dashs with certain shapes you like, cut them up and fibre glass them all together to create a real one off, but thats just my opinion.

I think I am going to have to find a KA dash in a scrappy and have a go ;) that looks spot on, how much clearance do you have around the steering wheel and does your hand hit the dash when changing gear?

the questions you have asked are basically the only down falls with this dash and are the only things that properly stumped me with the build. the clearence is great after alot of cutting and thinking. i fount that while smoking and driving (i know its wrong) that while accidently taking a corner fast (very fast) that the fag touches the top of the dash just ever so slightly but i only have a small wheel, other than that its fine.

So if you get the cutting of the dash correct, you can get enough clearance to be usable. In one of the pictures I can see that the top of the dash rail kind of gets in the way, did you have to modify the dash rails to get it in?

Any pictures of it in the car?

i have pictures but their still on my phone will probably update later. ye if you get the cutting right it will clear everything easy the thing you have to watch out for is what kind of shape you want at the end of it really. i wanted it all to fit flush and tight but then had problems fitting the heater cable and the choke then their was troiuble seing the clocks so had to put them at an angle and to be honest rushed it a bit towards the end becuse i wanted it ready for bingley

I suppose any custom install is going to have its difficulties. Did you take the dash out of the KA yourself? My local scrappy has one so I will be heading down there at the weekend, problem is I have to take it out of the KA myself, hopefully it’s not too difficult.
