Yup just NA, I think 100bhp should do me fine.

The aim is to have a mini i can drive everyday that won't cost a fortune but will still be a bit fun.

Well an update from last weekend:

Some time was spent sorting the garage to make some room for myself and some time on the mini.

Well I attempted to get the rear side window surrounds off but it felt like I was going to break something so decided to get some advice before I did some damage. Help? :(

So I carried on with cutting the hardboard window templates and managed to almost finish one! But I'm taking a bit of time on them as I wan't them to spot on:

I got a bit bored with the window so decided to fir the wheels I got a while ago:

Nice!

Right, this weekend saw another bit of work.

Firstly I collected my seats for the mini (thanks to Becs for collecting them for me!!!!). Got to see the Stig and some oldschool TMF members on Saturday as well which was really nice.

So then at home today it was such a nice day I pushed the mini out of the garage to do some work on it.

Another pic of the wheels:

Then a go at size testing the seats, it seems initially that they are a pretty decent fit and rather comfortable, so I'm pretty chuffed.

From the outside:

Rear view, nice:

Just need to figure out how to mount them.....

Then it was back with working on the windows. So this time I managed to almost finish the passenger side rear:

The I broke the sissors and nearly had an accident, part of the sissor snapped of and hit me square in the forehead :(

Another shot of the mini sat outside:

With my little work chair :)

Are they full sizes windows you're stripping or ones that have already been chopped down? I'm thinking, if they've been stripped before they might have been put back together with max strength goop.

Try and keep the frame from twisting, use something like a wallpaper scraper tapped between the glass and frame to try and spring the whole frame outwards and cut through any sticky stuff.

the smart seats are a good fit in this mini - theyre too tall in a regular mini as I found a few weeks ago :(

you might it easier to shape the board with a piece of emery cloth rather than a pair of scissors Charlie :(

Don't say that! Why? :dontgetit: I think you are forgetting that the passenger seat can fold down so you have a cup holder, cool huh? :withstupid: Althought the passenger seat dosn't seem to recline too far, but my seat will

They are standard size, taking the surround off to resize them. I've been told heating with a hairdryer may help as well.

does this shell not need a floor cross member ?

There is one for it but if it can't fit with these seats that I will probably do a custom cross member (or 2), alot easier to make in fibreglass (well if I knew how :))

you might it easier to shape the board with a piece of emery cloth rather than a pair of scissors Charlie :)

That's the next step :)

If you manage to strip the trim from the rear windows how are you going to re-shap it to fit the cut down ones?
