The washers on the steering rack and subframe mounts don't seem to be that big? I think the washers I have must be at least twice the diameter?!
Great to see progress on the beasty though!

should'nt that be posing for pic of work done by tom !!!!
Charlie, at least have a tool in your hand when you pose for a "work" picture next time lol
Actually I bolted on the cylinder thingys on thank you very much, and if you look closely I'm holding a spanner
Jammy: Yup its not chopped too much out the body so it keeps almost everything standard (= less work). The washers are fairly big but could always put massive ones on to be on the safe side.

Ooo, interesting to see that you got a later brake master cylinder on the crossmember without it poking through the bonnet! I think I've just about got my head around how the body has been shortened....
2" out the roof pillers
1 3/4 out the body whats hard to work out !!!!!

Tell me about your front subframe mounts by your feet? They're the same as in my Minus and I was looking to put spreader plates in as I wasn't sure they would be up to the job. What do you think?
you would have to speak to minus about that

I must admit I would've thought spreader plates on those rear front subframe mounts would be needed - metal shells suffer enough from cracking in that area. Unless the shell is already strengthened within the fibreglass?
why ???
the shell is made to a worked out spec layup does not need spreader plates
fibreglass does not bend like steel you cant compair the two
dont know why people have to question the strength of the shell
have done this job for 22 years think i know what am doing by now
