ok here goes... I bought it around 3 years ago, it had been off the road for some time and in need of extencive restoration but instead of building it up for the road we decided to race it and put loads of work into the initial rebuild. more or less every panel got replaced and all parts were new (no expence spared). on the track it performed extemely well as i won the british championship with it in the first year of racing it. the secondyear on the track it suffered from heavy panel damage when i rolled it  however we fixed it up again and raced it for another year. we were planning to use it again for a third year but the rules changed not allowing pick up models any more.
so then it got parked up for a while. i always said i would put it back on the road when i had finished racing it but everyone disbelived me, thus making me more determened to do it.
here are a some picture of when we raced it and some of restoration for the second time round...

That's fantastic!!!

This is the first time that I have ever heard of anyone putting a grasser back on the rd!!!!!

I used to do class 1 autograss many years ago at STAR, the amount of good minis I wrecked in the process is incredible!!

Top Work!!

Hi there,

Did you ever manage to get your Pick-Up back on the road ?

I too would love to put my old NASA Clubman Estate back on the road, although I've thought of doing it in as close to the state it's in now (as it came off the track in 2004), so as to be a kind of "True Rat" in homage to its former life as a Grasser.
I envisage pulling up to the MOT Station, and after a long while, saying "Ok now you've stopped laughing, could you just do the MOT so I at least have a failure sheet to decide upon whether I'm going to do this".
Am I sentimentally inspired or delusional ?
