AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

i drove 6 hours round trip today for a straight cut mini gearbox and
tried to palm me off with a standard helical gearbox saying "really? i bought it in good faith"
even though hes recently sold a K-headed a-series block so just trying it on

i even asked him are you sure its straight cut and sent pictures of what it should look like and he said yes.

atleast mess about someone abit more local!
alarm bells should have wrung when he said meet me in mcdonalds -.-

that engines also been up there at least once before, some unhappy non paying buyer i guess.

got to hate time wasters like that, specially when you're that far away. a certain small mini company in peterborough done the same thing to me, even though i asked hundreds of questions and warned i wouldnt be happy if i travel that far and it was all pure bullsh*t

i actually think some folk don't know how to use ebay, just got left negative feedback from a guy that bought a speaker board from me - after i posted it i sent a message to them saying i would refund some of the postage as it was cheaper than i expected, so later got a message from the buyer saying the item was broken. I offered a full refund if they would send me a photo of the damage - no photo, no more contact and then they leave negative feedback saying item was broken and they were overcharged on postage!!

I sold a playstation 3 and games to a guy on ebay he send me payment through paypal and called me to say he would collect it in person.
So he came and picked it up and within 14 days paypal contacted me to say that the buyer had not recieved his item and they were refunding him the money.(chargeback?)

I explained that he had collected and they were not interested.

Basically if i had posted it and had proof of postage it would have been okay but they were not interested
so i lost £175

Ebay and paypal aghhhh..

So beware as this happen quite a lot.

Avoid beachboycustard1958 I bought a set of clocks off him. It was 12 days before he bothered to post them, then gave wrong info. When they arrived they were broken, not surprising as they had been packed with only a few bits of paper and rattled around the box. I sent him a message and his response was 'they were ok when I sent them' . Idiot.

123-hungryhippo...ive just got back from a 4 hour drive to pick a MINT 1976 shell up,well the only thing it had in common with a mint is some have holes in the middle! I sent numerous messages asking what work had been done etc..he said its as mint as they come all the welding work had been done and it was in primer ready to be painted. the welding consisted of plates welded over rotten steel on the floor pans, boot, bulk head, hed not even cut the rust out ,there where rust blisters everywhere, oversills, and hed just sprayed over the lot with primer. i said its one of the worst ive seen ,his reply was it had been done by a fabricator/welder!so it cost me 80 for van hire and 40 in diesel....then i get home and hes opened a unpaid item case!ive just phoned ebay and explained they said wait till case is over then phone them to remove it from my record. I am fuming to say the least a wasted day and wasted money.the car was at weaverham cheshire so save yourself the trouble if it comes back on.I thought it would be a good one seeing as it was 440.

Sellers should always send recorded delivery or a service which offers proof of delivery! proof of postage means nothing to ebay/paypal.

Avoid this guy ebay name sadieandchris, seems like a nice bloke but sold us a mini with 12 month MOT, supposedly been put through the MOT 5 days before we got it.

the car didn't have any rear breaks, only a drivers mirror, reverse lights don't work, no horn, no screen wash bottle & a load more that would fail an MOT. Think he swaps the plates on minis

avoid him like the plauge!

Sold a PS3 to some guy from london (Not an english or welsh name!) , sent item recorded delivery, 28 days later he complained saying someone else used his card and he had never received an item.

Took me hours on the phone and a lot of scanning to prove that it really did arrive at his stated adress otherwise i should have said good bye to my money.

Took over a month to get resolved, and even after it was they had to clear it with his bank.

Apparently its a scam, They are actualy from over-seas, staying in the uk for a short while, buy items then when they return to their country state item was never ordered or received.

Was not a happy bunny.

It's amazing how some people can do that, like when you buy them it means you usually want it! You don't go and buy a pair of new shoes and leave them laying around the house for a month and there's nothing worse when you do it with a bargain like finding something cheap in ebay winning it cheap then the seller says sorry I lost the item -.- just like really.

5497mark

Asked for more postage after the auction ended, refused to send the item unless i paid almost double the postage cost. Personally think it was sour grapes because the item only made 99p and this was an attempt to make a little more money.
