Hmm I've never done rear doors to be honest, but they will be an inner and outer skin, I imagine it would turn out easier to source another good door, don't know if skins are available.

Thats a waste of time really, you always end up warping the skin where it's welded and need a load of filler to make it look half right. Much easier, quicker and does a better job to fit an entire new skin.

ok ill do the whole skin then never doen it before and cant weld so ill have to practice first

For anyone needing to repair the lower part of the door frame, I found the plain doorstep repair panel not the shaped one once trimmed to be a perfect fit for repairing the complete lower edge. Now this was a long time ago but the proper lower repair panel for the door frame was about a £12 and a plain doorstep was a £1 at the time so it was a very effective cheap repair if the rot was not terrible

This is for the main doors not rear doors

I was given the heads up from a pal in the US, its a door skin folding tool that fits into your air chisel.

Softpad on a grinder and a belt file. You can get both from bodyshop suppliers, or maybe B&Q etc..
