go buy a old metro

then she will feel safer with you in the mini

My mum used to have one of those, it was awful >_< the mini feels sooooo much more stable and safe

Safer? The Metro/Rover 100 (an old 1980's design) scored only 1 star out of 5 in 1997 for the Euro NCAP test which finally killed off its sales and production was ended soon after.................................video below

Oh good, another plug for the BINI?

Lets all sell our real Minis then because there's just no point anymore and the might that is BMW is sure to take over the world next.

I don't think?

:withstupid:

Who mentioned the BINI or BMW?
I posted the Metro crash test facts (how does that offend?) and a link to ALL the NCAP small car tests that have been tested to date including some older designs like the Metro, Saxo, etc.
Being a Mini driver or owner of a classic car of any type is like being a motorcyclist, it is best to be aware of the facts and minimise the risks as far as possible. ie. Always drive defensively, keep your distances, keep your Mini well maintained, maybe fit head restraints or better seats from a later Mini if possible (especially on a daily driver) as even minor rear shunts can give nasty neck whiplash and try to avoid high risk situations like being in a line of moving traffic on a wet motorway with a large Lorry sitting on your rear bumper......try to put space around yourself if possible just in case......even in a modern car.

I don't think I want a VW like this one though!!!!!!!!

These Fifth Gear videos show it also depends what the other car involved in a collision is whether big, small, old or new.
