I've been a bit stuck over the last few weeks... waiting for a date to move house, and more importantly get a nice double garage for the mini's (the 10k Audi can sit outside.... :P ). I've been waiting to chop the roof off so that I can get on and get one fitted that has no holes, but I can't move the car with out a roof...

I've had to make do with just doing a few little jobs (and getting the cooper ready for sale).

I've whipped the rear hi-lows of and put them back with some knuckles. Ride hight slightly improved...

Which means he now has suspension all round and a hand brake, ready for the big move. I can't be bothered towing, so he's going in the back of the moving van (Sould fit.. pics to follow)!

I've finally finished the drivers door I've been rebuilding at college (and finished college). The skin is on and it's wearing a nice coat of primer.

As we're in England (well I am, don't know about you) and we drive on the left hand side of the road, I didn't see there being much need for left hand drive (or van/hickup style) wipers. So I've got rid of the extra holes in the bulk head.

I just welded a small plate underneath the hole then skimmed it with filler, rubbed it down, skimmed it again, rubbed it some more then primed it. You'd never know they where there...

I guess there'll be more updates once we've moved... Hopefully in a couple of weeks. :D

Thanks :) , It's just a shame he's not a real GT

Yep, I've got a nice set of Gold GT stripes waiting to go on. I was going to get some made up saying 1380GT, but I though that was a bit sad...

Me and John Boy (MiniMadMotorMan) went of on a boys day out yesterday, and came back with more work to do....

Another one of our long drives with a long tow back, at least it was only 340 miles this time!

The car has been officially scraped a few years ago, so we're going to brake it up. He's having the turbo motor for his cooper and I'm having the front mount rad, cooling system and the vented 4 pot brakes :)

Apparently, if I use the metro hubs I'll hit the brakes and then find myself in the field at the side of the road (or worse...) so I'm just going to fit the flanges and calipers to my hubs. That should keep the suspension geometry pretty much standard mini.

The rad is only about half an inch thick, so it should fit nice and snuggly against the front panel. I just need to find a nice slim fan(s) for it. Looks like I'll be having a trip to the scrappers, unless I can find a cheepish Kenlowe fan somewhere... anybody got one for sale??

Thanks. :)

My other clubby runs quite hot when I've got my foot down, so I thought big cooling would be a good idea for this one.

It's been some time since I've done any work on this car, but I thought I may as well put on a little update.

When we got moved, while I still had the rental van, I thought it would be a good idea to get the car to his new home. Having read some threads on here saying a mini will go in the back of a renault master, I thought... 'How hard can it be??'

mmm....

Well it won't! The arches are a bit too close together. We thought about lifting it over the arches, but I think that would have wrecked the sills.

We've got the engine out of the Metro and the brakes and cooling out ready for me. Looks like I'll be spending some timing making some brackets and stuff to fix it all in.

Well... I haven't managed to get the car home yet! It's moved out of the container and into minimadmotorman's garage. I have to confess that I've been far too busy repairing a MetroVan to give it a look! Just need to test the blue clubman, then I'll be cracking on with this oneagain! I can't have another year without a mini.

That said, plans for the engine have changed. I have a parcel on a plane winging it's way to me. I'll tell more when it gets here

No. It's an engine mounted cheese greater. All the rage in Paris
