Just been reading this thread.. its a shame that a thread dedicated to a best mate ends up with people argueing.

I think I speak for everyone that has posted in here in saying that we want the car finished for oli. and argueing isnt going to get it done..

Be careful Wolfy, t@z has as much to do with this as Alex, but you didn't go being rude to him now did you!?

Lets allow this topic to die until Prawn gives us an update, or Simon comes online to tell us he's finally sent the engine!

And thats an order! :) :P

simon wont come online, its all coming through me.

you lot will only shoot him down anyway :) :P

Maybe he should, it would at least allow him to speak for himself and that way everyone that reads this topic can see exactly what reasons he has to give for the delays.

Let us be the judge of who we shoot down!

Lets keep this topic on track - not take detours for slanging matches.

So I assume now that "communication breakdown" has been cleared up the engine has been sent, possibly recieved?

i would expect so, but it seems that people argue about things 99.9% of the time and thank people the other 0.01%. None of this has been morspeed's fault. I you had that much money wrapped up in an engine and a company to run everyone would have done the same.

Quite frankly, whilst you are entitled to your opinion, it offends me, greatly.

This is ENTIRELY Morspeeds fault. That is a fact which CANNOT be questioned.

I made it very clear from the outset that I was in charge of getting the Mini finished.

Not once was I asked for any proof of who I was, or any confirmation from Olis parents.

Since all this recent *problems* Oli's mum has phoned Morspeed herself on Monday and set things straight. and was told it would be sent this week. Simon was thoroughly unhelpful, and downright disrespectful even claiming to have recieved a text message from Oli after christmas, when he died on december 9th. The whole point of me taking charge was so that Carol would not have to deal with these things, she struggles enough getting through each day, without having to deal with people who clearly have no sympathy for the death of her only son.

Anyway, I just want this engine to arrive.

As of 2 hours ago when I last spoke to Mintec (the people waiting for the engine) it had not arrived.

Maybe Simon should reply in here, I'd LOVE to see how he justifies not sending an engine that was confirmed as ready on September 4th.

From the use of smilies in that reply, can I assume that Oli's death and the ongoing saga of the engine has become somewhat of a laughing matter at the Morspeed workshop?

Damn right we will shoot him down.

i dont know what has happened, nor do i really care anymore. sort it out yourself.

agree with mini93

i tried to help and all you have done is carry on slating simon and making me look stupid.

death is not a joke! no matter what you think of simon, he is not an a*****e!

i know you feel strongly, but accusations like that will only get you in trouble. enjoy looking over your shoulder if you act like that much more.

I'm sorry Dan, I have nothing against you, and by no means wish to make you look stupid. I also do not blame you for believing what Simon tells you, as after all, you do not know me from Adam. I do appreciate you trying to help.

However, In this situation I have nothing to gain by misleading people, unlike Simon, who's entire reputation is at stake as a result of what has happened.

If Simon can phone me, and give me an acceptable reason why the engine has not yet been delivered, I will happily accept, and the matter will be over.

What exactly does that mean? I have nothing to fear, as I am 100% in the right. My concience is clear.

If Simon does not like accusations being made on this forum, I suggest he comes on here himself and explains the situation.

I don't want to offend anybody, but I'm totally siding with Nick (prawn) on this. I'd say this is preety apauling on Morspeed side/reputation. To say Oli ordered, and payed for the engine WELL over a year ago, and it still not to be with them is preety bad, specially considering them to be one of the leading engine builders in the mini scene.

Considering this was on the prebuilt sales page too makes this all the worse, it's not like they have had to build from scratch.

post the truth

I've done nothing but.

As I've said time and time again, what do I have to gain from making things up?

You told me just this week that Simon required confirmation from Carol Lewis about the engine, and Carol called up on Monday to do exactly that.

If Simon really had asked me, or Pierre, for confirmation from Carol at an earlier date, do you not think that would have been sorted straight away?

There simply is NO excuse.

I see nothing funny in this situation, so I suggest you keep the smiley faces for other areas of the forum.

Having read the whole thread i too hope this can be sorted out and the only way that is going to happen is if Simon delivers the engine!!

However having had a year to do this it would appear that he had no intention of doing this.

Unfortunalty Prawn i think you will end up with the only option available and that is taking him to small claims court.

Very dissapointing.
