The best thing you can do, is get one of those weather sheild things. I've found it dramatically improves airflow so that now I can easily get 0-60 in under three seconds :teehee:

Never actually measured the 0-60 on my 998 or 1330...I was too busy listening for the next ominous squeak, whirring noise or clunk!

isn't 0-60 like bhp figures? only ever used in the pub and useless in the real world ;)

always happens when someone starts a 'what's your 0-60' or 'what's your top speed' topic.

i swear for 0-60 times some people must count to time themselves ;)

haha my mini is 110bhp and running on a stage 2 remap tuned striped out with just 2 seats no carpet also fitted a 6 point roll cage made for her soon as i bought the car i did a rebuild and went to minisport and had it tuned to its best the jets have been drilled had lots of things done and if you cant read i said ABOUT 6 seconds some where around there could be 7 i dont really know!

Drilled the jet? remapped?
Now that is interesting.

And stripped out, so you removed carpet? lets say 5kg, and back seats another 5 kg ish,

Pretty impressive.

But here is some reality

The 1275 engine in the video is about what most manufacturers say is a stage 2.

Please do carry on talking though, its funny. :D

I have a blue cylinder head that I painted black. In doing so did I lose the Cooper benefits?

I think my MPi must be 12secs plus at least. I've never timed anything but it seems to pull quite well when needed. It's slow compared to the modern car I drive though

Put it this way, technically not a 0-60. But i can tell you my 0-71 time in a 1275 with 64bhp @ fly. And that was 18.213 seconds 1/4 mile. And the 998 was around 20 iirc.
And thats probably less than standard road weight, FG roof skin, FG front end. No rear seats, no headlining.

The thread that never dies.

Standard 998 would be about 15 seconds or so.

Less then 5 seconds if you believe those people who say a 998 can do over 100mph with a Stage 1 kit.

My 998 took forever to get to 60, as it had the 2.9 diff ratio.

As for the figures stated in here, I'd suggest it's not worth posting a 0-60 time unless you're willing to follow it up with video proof! :P

my 1971 "Mini 1000" is definitely due to be timed, but it's certainly under 7 seconds, in fact I suspect it's under 6. :shifty:

To be fair, it's not a decent representation of the Mini's performance anyway, as I'm changing out of 2nd into 3rd at bang on 60 if I drive to the shift light thing in the digidash, could go a little higher with the RPMs to try and post a decent time I guess. :w00t:

Oh, and I've had my atlas remapped too.

Just realised, this is for 998s too....dammit.

My City E was timed once (for a laugh) and I'm sure it was 17 seconds or more! >_<

Do it, or the engine going bang, both would be video worthy ;)

All I know on my standard 998, I change from 2nd to 3rd at 50mph sat nav speed and 3rd to 4th at 70mph sat nav speed

That's if I properly try, I don't drive like that all the time, much :D

No idea on 0-60 times though haha, probably really bad considering it's on 90k miles
