just a quickie, not very technical though. I want to try and adjust my clutch, my haynes manual tells me how, but does not say where the stop and lock nuts are? :)

so can someone tell me where abouts the adjustment point is please.

cheers

Well look at the clutch arm (driver side of engine) and about half way down that us a week bolt and lock nut on the cover housing.

If you mean the throw adjust then it's the big 15/16th bolt at the bottom of the arm.

First, what type of clutch do you have...

If it's a verto (clutch slave on plate over clutch cover with short actuating arm ) then it's not adjustable, the only thing you can really do is set the throw out stop and blead the hydraulics.

If it's a diaphram ( clutch slave attached to transfer case and long arm ) then there is some clutch attached adjustments associated with the arm return bolt and the throwout, and then there's also the actual flywheel/clutch setup which is adjustable ( or rather it'c setting it up correctly )

Adjusting the throw out is a two person job... Undo (loosen) the nuts on the end of the clutch plunger.... get a colleage to depress the clutch pedal fully ( I'd suggest doing this after bleading the clutch system ) wind the flanged nut in so it's against the clutch housing... release the clutch pedal, rotate the nut another flat ( 1/6th of a turn ) and lock it off.. That's it...
