You saying you can't get petrol pipe?

Just get a small bore bit of fuel pipe. Try bike shops if your really desperate.

Perhaps I wasn't very clear. I'm having difficulty getting the pipe from the places I know locally to try. I'm sure I can get petrol pipe from somewhere if I keep looking but my question was whether it is ok to use pipe that isn't rated for use with fuel?

Cheers Luke.

I just used some 5mm plastic pipe from B&Q...seems to work however.......
We had the same problem, the pipe had come out of the hole but after refitting a new pipe we were still getting the smell. We discovered the seam on the fuel tank was leaking. The petrol was then running under the rear seat base and being soaked up by the sponge! One new tank and seat later and the smell's gone!

I am having difficulty getting hold of replacement tubing locally so I was wondering if I can use any type of tubing i.e. something that is not rated for use with fuel?

Luke.

Like I said most of the Mini specialists just supply windscreen washer tubing instead now for the fuel tank vent pipe and that can be bought from most motor factors.

It's probably harder wearing than the original rubber hose?
