Cheers, feels like its getting some where now with the big gaps filled in.

Looking awesome. Using a fibreglass rear valence?

No mate, I'll be making my own diffuser which will occupy that space, or at least I plan to. Its not high up on the priority list to start but another thing which will likely be aluminium too.

Cheers guys.
Im just going through fitting of the fg/carbon doors, gapping these up is proving a right pain! Shaving sections off the panel, trial fitting and repeating. I also need to get on and buy the window kits.

Been over at the IMM today, unfortunatly only for the day but such is life!
I've managed to perchase some stuff to get this project moving along and working towards a rolling chassis.
Couple of the big things on the list weren't available to take away but they're on order.
1st on my list was a visit to Curley composites, got myself a pretty order in place:
2 piece F.G clubman front end
CF roof
CF dash
CF rear bumper
I did manage to take home a FG mk3 bootlid and a set of CF miglia arches which they had in stock at the show.
I've also got myself an even prettier order with KAD... Which I will show once it arrives.
Few more bits I picked up.
Radius arm rebuild kit, Top suspension arm rebuild kit, couple of hub bits, Rear screen rubber and also door frame rubbers with weather strips.
Also, last week I got my lexan windows. which is why I have bought the rubber bits and bobs now to help trial fitting
Over sized rear 1/4's to bolt in place with grey smoke tint, rear screen to match. Front door windows are clear with the tough anti scratch stuff.
And thats enough for now. I havent really done a lot in terms of work. I have started getting the doors in place but nothing picture worthy.

My pretty KAD order turned up
Although I still havent got the rear disk conversion yet as they didnt have any gold ones in stock (to match the front obviously)
so, there's the 6 pot kit with DS3000 pads, alloy flanges, alloy front hubs with ball joint spacers for lowered cars and internal shifter kit, rather pleased!
Alloy hubs which uses metro ball joints (means no more shimming!) and also has lugs on each side so if i go racing I dont require so many different spares.
Ball joint spacer came fitted to the metro ball joints
And of course I had to have a trial fit...
Of course I'm not quite at the stage where I can fit them, but I want to get it down as a rolling chassis in not so long, plus woo shineys!

Pure Porn! Serious setup you got going in there! do you have a final weight your aiming for?

Im not really sure. I could joke myself and say as close to 500kg as possible. But I still have a big cage in there which of course is a hefty addidion. I wont be going as far as some of the other builds I have seen in terms of lightening stuff plus by the time I have added the additional weight of the turbo charger, intercooler and assosiated gubbings, plus some of the other uprated parts which are heavier than standard items. It'll add up.
I'm of course lowering the unspring mass as shown above so that should pay dividends in how it drives round track
so really I'm hoping around the 600's hopefully under but we shall see, it'll get corner weighted so sort the suspension out anyhow.

So my KAD rear disk set up arrived, all rested up on my freshly painted KAD arms. Not assembled fully. I'm still need to get round to putting new swing pins in both of my arms, and a new stub axle in just 1 of the arms, then my rear suspension set up is completed.
I have stripped down my front, top suspension arms, adjustable lower arms and tie bars. I'm going to get all these blasted before rebuilding these.
I'm going to modify my front subframe before starting assembly, then I can get this powder coated aswell.
I have finally finished (well almost) fitting the first door, this has been the worst bit of body work i've had to do so far. Try to fit it in the shell one way and it binds in 1 position, modify and it binds elsewhere, I got to a point I was almost happy. Then it got to fitting the front lexan windows and this some how modifyed the shape of the frame enough to throw everything out again. Eventually got to a point i'm reasonably happy with it though. Not the most perfect gaps, especially around the top of the frame.
I have also found that the original door seals dont want to fit, if I sit the door further away from the seal its over-flush to the rear 1/4. So i think i'm going to try find either some lower profile trim, or just use hammer on trim just to tidy it up a little.
I have also fitted the door handle since taking these pics, and its all working, although this was another thing that needed slight modifying, the pin that opens the door needed re-shaping (bending) to actuate the door opener thingy and the lock arm needed bending fit correctly.
Gots to start on the passenger door now... super enthusiastic about that!

I love the look of that cage, and all of the kad parts.

Thanks, I'm just looking forward to seeing the cage all painted up and all the new shiney parts hung from the subframes.

Started on fitting the passenger door now. Bit fiddly considering I couldnt remember how I started off fitting the drivers door.
to get the frame in roughly correct position I spacered up the door from the bottom of the sill giving me a good start point.
Rough marked out where I needed the 1st hinge (which i could see through the gap between the A-panel. Im trial fitting using smaller diameter bolts meaning if I need to enlarge the holes due to them being slightly in the wrong place I can fit the correct bolts and not have huge great penny washers to cover huge holes.
After a bit of faffing and trimming down the door along the A-post edge I managed to get the door hung.
Excuse the camera quality... apparently I have a some-what dirty lense!
I'll fit the lexan windows next (rather than having to re-adjust everything again later on) then I can do the final trim down the B-post and ensure I can a decent and consitant gap. then fit the latch and handle
Sods law the passenger door is set to fit better than the drivers one, the one that'll get more use! I could have done with a spare door to have done a trial fit!
