No pictures to show but iv been cracking on with the floor welding today. Almost done, just a quick inspection in the dark with a light under the car to check for small pin holes and... last welding tip jammed up and wouldnt clear. Arse!
noob mistake... should have already had spares and kinda wanted it done before next weekend so i can start moving along to next set of holes to weld up >_<
Heyho, already ordered the tips now

Also been buying more stuff, hopefully will turn up in the week.
Mega busy at work so not sure ill get much chance to do anything in the evenings even if the tips do turn up.

Shiney "Nic" type plenum. Take off for DV, angled for intercooler and hose take off too.
Anyone want a standard plenum?

This weekend, i finaly managed to finish the floor welding! needless to say iv been getting very tired of doing it now!
Constant welding, grinding back, shine the light behind and still see light pin holes... repeat... URGH!!
so... some of the welds just really arent pretty, but its all welded up now "solid" i think haha I also threw a quick layer of primer over it, to make myself feel better and see it in 1 colour. Hides some of the more dodgy welds but shows up some others, C'est la vie
The undersides also ground back as far as i really want to go

Posted Image
Just showing the side all welded up, didnt snap the otherside till after a blew primer over it, nothing really need to be seen though

from a distance it doesnt look too bad  and i have to keep reminding myself that most of the floor isnt going to be visable after the interiors in along with floor trays.
So... thats the floor mostly done. obviously need to plate up the massive hole at some point. I want to remove the old selector shaft tube because i think i can do a nicer job and a simple gator (such like a steering rack gator) will suffice. I'll also need to weld in another seat rail to replace the one on the cross member i deleted
so now after the floor comes the front bulkhead and the back end... urgh!
Rather than patching small holes like i did with the floor. im just going to replace the corners of the boot. also might just sack the old arches off and buy new ones. After the hassle of the floor thinking just replacing a panel might be easier for me and less stressful.

and neighbour noise complains continue...

Thats 2 non genuine rear wheel arches at £40 a pop... rather annoying seeing as im going to chop them to tub the arches mind!
and a 10" rear boot floor repair.
I hate spending money :( but hoping this will make doing the rear end repairs a little easier, quicker and neater

Sparks to the FACE!
thats pretty much what happened, but with that iv been chopping...again.
So tackling the rear end now. Hopefully this will go quicker than the floor did
Below are the reasons i didnt want to just patch up. Would be a complete patchwork quilt... grim!

Thats where iv got to today. Only had a few hours and was dark by time i had finished hacking off the remains of the boot floor. It was a pain taking off the 2 layers of flange (haha) I hate grinding spot welds away when you cant see them. Its done though.
Will see if I crack on welding the new one back tomorrow... Im pretty lazy

Haha, it actualy wasnt that bad once I started working... its the whole walking out to the garage wearing a tshirt before putting my overalls on and waiting for the garage to warm up a touch.
Be nice to have a bit more low level light for when i was grinding but hey ho

Cheers Danny but nope, unfortunatly not... once i get back from work Im far too lazy to go to the garage, especially with my moaning neighbours (whos not even a next door neighbour and other people iv spoken to have said they cant even hear me working really)
I try not to work on the car when its raining outside either, but much moisture in the air considering its bare metal. Rain sunday stopped anything there.
That and I'm not very well off at the moment, paid out for my holiday in january so cant go buying stuff haha
