haha yes. it wasnt really rotten anyway but need it all done nicely seeing as how much money im spending on it... be nearly mint! still not a show car worthy, otherwise id replace the floor but hopefully floor will tidy up sufficiently that ill be pleased with it (im going to have floor trays anyway to hide a chunk of the foot wells still)

No big developments.
My toolbox arrived, makes working on the car... no different really  maybe a little bit easier but iat least its not all over the floor or in the car.
Iv cut the inside roof rails down to the top swage. going to leave it at that, just tidy up the extra burrs. Need to leave a little strength there.
Iv also cut the rails on that are round the front and rear screen completly out. Makes things a little floppy at the roof line, but theres a few bits n bobs that need to go back in later on. a few small gussets to the cage, nothing extreme, just a few tags
Posted Image

The top dash rail will come out soon. (actualy thought it was finally finally blast ready till i remembered just this minute i hadnt done this!) anyway, dash will be held in with a few small tags welded onto the bulkhead with riv-nuts in,
also old heater brackets will go, going to use a light weight heater or electric screen.

Iv had fun with an annoying neighbour too. 2 days in a row shes come over complaining about noise. 1st day. thursday. I stopped as it was 8pm and getting late, admittedly
today, friday, at 6:30 she comes over, hostile and threatening me with official complains saying i should be renting a unit to work on a car making all these noises. I dont have the money to pay for it, so i told her i wasnt going to stop but that we needed to come to an arrangment, to which she replied "yeah, your going to stop" pfft!! balls to THAT!

Thats all i can be bothered with chopping out for now!
I'm bored of cutting it up!
It need blasting so i can start adding metal and making myself feel better about it.

Chopped the top rail out arround the windscreen
Posted Image

also chopped out the top dash rail
Posted Image

Altho, theres still a little more to chop out >_< as seen in the last picture. the remains of the old bulkhead box, but where its been sealed and painted its a bit difficult to see whats what, so im going to wait till after the blasting so i dont just go mad(der) and cut where i shouldnt.

Ill be phoning the blaster guy in the week to arrange it i guess!

Im fed up of cutting bits out. its not too bad cutting, but its the grinding out the edges to the desired points.
The cage is in the way in alot of places.
for example cutting out the boot floor was fine n dandy cutting out, plenty of space to chop chop without getting a face full of sparks. Cutting out my top dash rail was nasty. I chopped most of the rail out using a 1mm disk, and then used a chissle to pull the remaining metal and to find the spot welds, which i then ground down and removed. however the end of the rails are behind my cages A-supports so bit of a ball ache to get into.

I also removed the heater brackets, nice bit of cherry red metal jumped off the bit i was cutting straight onto my thigh... in my work trousers... that are less than a month old >_< teaches me! doesnt it!

Thats why i havent bothered welding anything in as yet. No point struggling with painted surfaces as when its blasted i can see where i stand and i know ill be able to get decent penitration from the welder.

Need to make an ordered list of what to do when it comes back. welding in wise...
Iv still a bit more grinding to do on the underside where iv chopped the valance off too, just the joining flange remains or bits of it at least, it was too high up when it was on its nose so really could do with getting it on the side so its at a good height.

Will get some decent turrets in there too, so might buy them soon to cheer myself up

Got the front subframe broken down and stripped apart this evening. ill be sending it to blasting at the same time as the shell that way it will be nice and clean for when i start chopping holes in it and stuff.
Ill then get it powder coated at a later date along with some other bits and bobs...probably quite a few things actualy. suspension arms, brackets etc

also thinking of sending my wheels inners in for blasting. They're painted bright green at the mo, but id feel better if they were blasted 1st off then powder coated nice bright green.

Also ordered some rear turrets to go in the back.

So looks like it will be next weekend or so by time it comes back from blasting. also hopefully borrowing a friends propper industrial Mig so i wont have to keep faffing around with a shockingly bad hobby welder... then its full blast!

I think this weekend... bit nervious haha. Im pretty sure the shells solid.... but not sure its its maybe enlarged some already existing holes.
Friends had his shell done by the same guy and apparently using softer grit for mine so im sure it will be fine and dandy.
