That must've taken balls to make the first cut. I know I probably would've done it wrong

and plus thats just another missing pannel, in the list currently is, roof, front bulkhead, rear bulkhead and boot floor
Iv got a friend who's cut their roof off before, so a quick call to him to check the measurments i had to leave, measure and mark and 1st guide cut was at 3 inches in to double check where it was appearing, then cut at the 2inch mark all round.
inner headline rails to remove today, the old sump gaurd extension slides and some other small bits n bobs also. Said this before but its about ready for blasting.

stuck the car on its end so i could lop off the gaurd mounts.
I wish however, someone could have told the person who built the car he really didnt have to spot weld the supports on every 10mm... what an utter ball ache!! took 2 hours to do the drivers side mount, more so for the passenger side one!

left with this below...

of course, the floor now resembles swiss cheese! so thats going to be fun to weld up

but no, didnt get much done today, took those mounts off and the old, standard battery cable guide.
will see what the weathers like after work tomorrow!

usual pics...

just a nicer angle to see how it fitted in the garage

the holey moley swis cheese floor!
I then got help from my friend Rhyd (Ta rhyd!) to lift the car down and out the garage

I spent alot of the day removing little bits of old trim, not a whole lot to show for it but their gone.
cut down the roof head-line rails, not a whole lot of weight there but it all helps

removing some extra skins from the remains of the rear bench so thats off and neater which im happy about, it was a bit grim before.
Rhyd also removed the C pannel, seat belt brackets... my cage usualy bolts to these but a bit of weight save... its amazing what a simple bolt can do, the back of the cars like jelly without them in anymore but I had already planned i was going to gusset (haha) directly to the body to keep regidity. Im also planning on gusseting at roof level, nothing major just an added tag to keep a little bit extra there now im going for a composite roof.
The handbrake brackets are gone, got my hydraulic system in there so away they went
And i took the boot floor back some more, looks a bit nicer than just being cut off 1/2 way along the pannel and what was there before was flimsy at best. It will be nicer with one simple formed alloy floor. below.

Weekends opening up a bit more now so i should have chance to crack on a touch more.
Iv bought myself a new toolbox, another thing thats been annoying me, if the garage isnt clear i dont work on it, so in an attempt iv got myself something nice

Also iv sold some wheels, scrapped some metal and stored stuff carefully so means i can infact now work in the garage without hauling stuff outside before hand... means i can easily nip into the garage without faffing 1st or worrying about the stuff outside suddenly getting showered on.
but in anycase, just a couple of snaps... new better non-iphone pictures!

not showing anything different really

my rollcage makes things so difficult!! cutting the end of the cross member out was a bit of a hassle but its done, woo.
also chopped the horrible messy section of gear tunnel out. It will be getting an internal linkage so ill just put a nice flat plate there to make it a bit nicer.
The floor also needs flattening/straightening/neatening in places. some welded up bung holes havent been done very nicly so iv started lopping the tops off, smoothing them over with the grinder. some dents in the floor have been knocked down but considering buying myself a dolly set so i have something propperly to hit against
Know iv said this many times... but very blast close now. Its could go now but still a few things i can chop out before hand... which i spose i may aswell do. (want to buy myself a whiteboard for the garage!!)
