im not going to bother setting in stone the plans as yet because i really cant afford to do anything at the moment, but iv got an idea of what id like to do to it eventually, its still going to stay a-series too, the plans id like to do may include a turbo, may not

colour scheme is going to stay..well the black and green one that is :o

Paint bought now!

-before i can get on with that though iv got a few things i need to do, just as a matter of course iv got 2 new a-pannels and seam strip thingys to go on, no point painting the car and next year having to pull them off.
-Iv got 1 rust spot under the N/S rear 1/4 window which im guessing will be a simple sand down jobby.
-sort out the surface rust that seems to have appeared under the roof guttering
-i might well get a FG boot to go on there before paint but im not 100% as yet
- sort out a few dings on the car and possibly thrown new doors on it.
-spend a good long time fixing the fit of the front end as im not happy with it!!
-choose which arches i want to fit and perchase (i did know but i cant remember now, failure!)

why is it when you spend money on something, your about to treat it the car ends up being like HA well actualy im going to break, spoilt little brat of a car!
had almost no brakes on the way back from gaydon, rear system bled out on the way there, it was just lucky enough i have a bias pedal box and my front system was still just about working all be it with excess travle in the pedal.

so iv gotta fit a new rear wheel cylinder and bleed before next weekends avon park where ill be drag racing (maybe, if i can muster the stupid amounts of money they charge)

i fixed the brakes before avon park and are of course much better now, i ended up running a 15.97, would have been nice to run a better time but hey ho, theres always another time.

got a few problems i need to address and may result in a partial strip down, i blew a little oil out of my rad side breather and so need to check that.
my temperature gauge went over 100, something it didnt do even when i was at castle combe giving it death. might either whip the head off or see about throwing a compression tester on there.
still got a bit of an odd clutch noise so im going to take it apart and look what i see.

well for next year i want to loose some weight, going to sort the suspension 1st which will entail fitting a rear beam and coilovers, alloy flat boot floor.
for the front suspension iv not quite decided yet.
car will then sit lower too :) damn the stilts looking ness.
after that iv got a few more plans for the rear but shall stay quiet till i completed the 1st phase

done my compression test results.
not really happy with it though,
did a cold test, not sure what its really telling me but:
from 1-4 in PSI
112
112
128
118
test with the engine warmed up
195
149
205
195

not really happy with cylinder 2  as you can see just about 50 psi down when warm.
looks like ill be pulling the head off soon to have a look see...might see about getting some savings out and working my head at the same time :w00t:

also full results from avon was
60ft 2.502
330 6.682
660 10.213
mph1 68.68
990 13.224
1/4 15.97@ 83.97mph

need more powerrrr!!

when the engines apart im also changing the starter motor to the more reliable pre-engaged type. Theres a tooth sheered from the ring gear anyway so im going to see if i can get a ring change at the same time...perhaps high torque starter too because it goes real slow at times.
time to get some reliability aswell as the looks :D

time for an engine re-fresh...fed up of the stupid thing...might try put into action my plans but it depends if i can gather the moneys, i think i can do it for 5-600...so very unsure tho
plans would be to turbo charge...but of course it would end up costing more than i would hope just because things like hoses arent cheap, little clips etc

id miss my webber aswell

if i couldnt afford the turbo at this stage, which i highly doubt im considering a cam change at very least

well already theres a change of plan haha, only reason is that i dont want to risk not making castle combe track day

basicly i dont want to undertake a project which i think i can do in less than a month for there to be a delay and me not make it.
main problems i can for-see would be money issue...of course and sourcing parts.

so, for now
im going to strip the engine down partly just to check the condition of the parts, the crank, the rings etc, assemble with new gaskets yadda yadda
at the same time im going to start looking for parts, when i get stuff within my price rang i shall then after combe ill give it another part strip down simply because ill need to change the cam for turbo application.
im also thinking ill need custom exhaust manifold to mate to the Gt17 i have planned, then also custom down pipe and possibly back section (thats the bit i can see taking most time really!)
