right splines sound like the issue herer, along with the seating washer to go into the drive flange, you will proberly need to replace
drive flange
cv joint
castle nut
washer
and possibly wheel bearings

On a setup with two split pins, those setups with just one split pin (the majority of those I've come across are just one), then you should torque the caslte nut up to 193lblft.drive shaft castle nut should be torqued up to 150lbs, than to nearest hole for split pin never slacken off for hole..........................

does sound like there is some damage somewhere which is restricting the castle nuts travel up the thread. If i were you i'd look for a second hand hub/brake set up for that side.

Right, i replaced the castle nut, got a big split pin a torqe wrench and did it all up nice and tight and everything right.
Brakes were fine at first, starting to loosen off now and soften up, and last night the wheel bearing went, by the sound and noise scraping and car movements.
So i have ordered the above:
Drive Flange
CV Joint
Wheel Bearings
Hub
Ball Joints
Ball joint Splitter
A costly expense but may aswell replace it and get it working again.
Will also look at replacing the same stuff on the other side AFTER christmas, i can't afford to do it now

Ive still got a bloody steering rack to fit....
