+.60" with std sods which will actually b 1330 as 1340 doesnt exist although its comonly called this. there are plenty of places to get um from, iv just got my full kit from Morspeed.

as for power out put it completly depends on head and cam spec and so on but around 95bhp at the fly is easily obtainable.

Before you buy pistons, check the bores, it may need boring again if it's been run in its +060 guise, which means you'd be looking at a 73.5mm offset bore (1380)..

When exchanging, also remeber that it's the vendors decision to accept the block as an exchange or not.

i have a morspeed 1380. had it all built up for me with the head put on and the gearbox fitting ready to drop in it came to about £900 and its the best thing i ever bought, i get about 110bhp at the crank from it and its a flying mechine. also i've not had any problems with it, its just a solid we'll built engine. also morspeed is about 10min drive from me so it was easy to get. Simon has a rolling road going in now. hehehehe

was that price inc everything, new recon box and head etc. what else did you need to buy for it? i am in the process of getting more serious about a 1380, and i was thinking it would be more like 14/1500 with a box if i built it up my self from a kit. what engine is it on their site?

I believe when you go above 1380 ( ?), you have to mess about lengthing the stroke length, which involves using the smaller big end bearings as well as Cooper S rods and stuff, also the reliabilty can be an issue unless you really know what your doing. I have a 1425, but would of probably kept it to a 1380 if I was to build the engine myself. And I'm not sure what you can go up to, but I don't think 1500 is possible with a A or A+ block.

It will be a 1330. It is worth sod all without the pistons because boring out costs nothing so all the money put into a 1330 would be in the pistons. I would give him £100 or less.

1400's the biggest you can go without stroking, that's a 74mm offset bore, and I can tell you there aint much metal left... !

the engine is comin with a whole host of other parts, such as cooper s disks, a deseamed shell 6 point cage 10" minilites etc, and im paying £350 for the lot..... just wondering whether its worth buying some pistons and rods getting the engine built up and run in then flogging it on as i have a turbo waiting to go in.
