Car Audio Security is where I got it from. the guys were supper helpfull as there was a problem with stock and the manufacturer didn't have any more but they sorted one out for me as I said I needed it for tomorrow.
KAM cheers for the comments. The furr on the door cards was a temp thing but people loved it so I left it for now. Down the line it's gonna go alcantara with some orange detailing so should suit the car better. It is nice to rest your leg on when driving in shorts though
just ordered mine...mite order the rev counter next week... how did u hook up the speedo?... for some reason i can find it....

no worries glad to help. I do like mine alot. still need to calibrate it though as it does read 29mph when on the motorway

Not been on for a bit as have been having a break from car stuff. After spending 3 months working everyday on the car it's nice to chill out. The car went really well down to the riv run and back. No major drama's. The car is set toooooooo low so is rubbing the arches all round. Funny as booting up the hills on the A30 past some other minis and had smoke coming from the back of the car. They followed us into the camp site and came up saying, yeah your car is smoking a bit, but when we got a whif of it realised it was from your tyres rubbing on your n/s rear arch

Temperatures with the polo rad. Was running hot on the M5 all the way to Exeter to the point where I thought I best stop. But got to a bit rain storm and though this will cool me down. No chance. Kept hot. But a little bit further and the car had a little cough

With all the interiour in it was alot quieter but when the foot goes down or on overrun it does get loud to the point it makes you feel sick

All in all it ws a very successfull trip and I have a few things to get on with but driving her everyday it's all good.

That vid you done when joining onto the bypass it sounds like the vtec is kicking in? Strange?
I think the usual suspects are oil temp and pressure, but you can try cleaning out the vtec solenoid, known to get clogged up and cause starvation

I stayed up all night till 4am reading this, and needed a nap to finish it!

It's an amazing project, I'd love to have something similar!

Did you manage to sort out your vtec prob?
to be honest I've always looked at honda vtec engines as just an engine with a lairy cam? My mates standard EP civic was just noise when the vtec kicked in, felt fast in higher revs but thats noise induced?
Never gave me a kick in the back like a turbo would? Maybe with the minis weight it might?

Wassupcrew - I used all the mini loom for all the electrics for the the car and then used the Honda loom just for the engine. I cut out what I thought I didn't need in both looms and it was ok as everything worked. Lucky really. Not too sure what to do about your lights without having a look around your loom and seeing how things are laid out. I think every mini VTEC has different wiring. It's been a week or so now since your post so did you find anything that was the problem?
KAM - I think it's still a prob with the ecu programme. I've been trying to get hold of the guy who did the map but he's not been on the civic forum for a few months so can't reach him. So what I have done, all be it a bit crude is to bypass the ecu for now and have the solenoid on a switch in the cab. So when I'm all up to temp and have the right speed and revs I want I mash the button and away we go
