Happy now as the car is back home. Cheers spence mate for the help with the trailer. Even if it did turn into a bit of a pig at the end :mrcool: I can work on the car when I like without having to travel to it so all is good. Got the exhaust and gear linkage back on, did some heat wrap on the manifold. Found a leaking brake union which dripped brake fluid on my frame and stripped the paint  but it's fixable. Just meant I didn't have any brakes when we were trying to get her on the trailer  Got an alt belt to fit. Using a 1013mm belt. If anyone needs any belts around this size let me know as I may have one to fit your application :o Just need to fit a slider or another pulley to keep it away from the mount. As it looks like this

But I have one in my garage so might just retro fit it for now and see how it goes. Got the task of fitting the wires tomorrow  so it's gonna be a stressful day but am having beer in the evening so all is good.
Here's how she looks now

Awesome work on the alternator bracket Mr Monkey

Are you gonna be able to make the Riv run now? And have you worked out about the grill?

The alt bracket is knocking a bit but some fettling will soon sort that. I am going on the Riv Run. You gonna be there KAM??

Got her started again today. Wiring is a mess but nearly there. Had a quick drive and she's feeling good. Will be able to go out for a proper drive soon yay

Unfortunately I'm working :) I'm surprised your going but you've put some serious time into this build the last couple of weeks so I shouldn't really be surprised? Top work Mr M :(

Shame you can't go mate it's such a good weekend. The car should be on the road in the next few days so am defo going ^_^ can't wait. She's all taxed, insured and ready for some loonacy on the roads scaring chavs :(

Ok working on the car today didn't go as good as I hoped as I was massivly hung over. The beer last night turned into me and a mate sinking a litre and a half of bourbon :D so today was a write off :turtle: But when I finally got back and stopping off to get more welding wire I knocked this little baby up

Now the belt doesn't hit the mount and it's all nice an tight with good tension on the belt. Just need to add some support to the bracket as there is flex in it with the belt on and engine running. God only knows how as the metal I used is dam thick. But that's just the way it goes :P

Just had a quick read through your project, like it, proper little sleeper.

I saw earlier you were asking about pipes from the rocker cover and another, I now see that you have used a filter on the rocker cover, which is fine. In my experience with Hondas I would recommend to link the rocker cover pipe up to the intake, post air filter (obviously) and pre throttle body. There are various arguments for the use of it, some say its purely for emissions, although this is partly true I also read somewhere (sorry cant remeber exactly) that one of the reasons for the pipe was to create a vacuum in the rocker cover to aid the rotating parts, especially when revving up in the 8K+ region. Also if you have room ( I know it tight under there) get an oil catch tank in the line, remotely mounted, to catch some of the sh!t from the blow by gasses.

Just my two penneth really.

Regardless of above your doing a great job with it and I look forward to seeing some vids of it in action. It eats the hours doesnt it........

^^^^^ Holy moly! :withstupid: I was taking some pictures earlier of the vacuum pipes whilst doing mine so I could report back here as you asked about it (years ago! ;) )

Heres the breather pipe

Posted Image

A goes to the smallest pipe next to the oil breather box, next to the two larger pipes

Posted Image

B goes to the small pipe directly under the dizzy

In action!

I'm doing it this way but putting the breather on the end of the top pipe

Nice info cheers guys. I'm gonna give her a go like this and see how she runs. Don't want to be changing my plans this late in the game before the riv run. Might all change tomorrow as I should get to have a proper drive and might show up some new issues. Fingers crossed it don't people ;) Didn't take any pictures but have had to make an extra strengthening bit for the alt. It looks naff but is doing the job so shall stay for now. Finally got my Batt light working. Never had the plug wires done till today then had to trace some of my old wiring diagrams for an answer to why it wasn't coming on. All good now though.
