could that be the shocks causing the spring to sit on eachother??? could the shocks either be stuck open or closed???

new dampers have been fitted all round

Are they shortend?

Could be they're not providing enough travel or your hi-lo's are wound out too much and are compressing the spring.

no not shortened. I will get my arse in gear and call them up but it's not too bad to drive. It's all settled and seems ok. Does still bang on bad bumps a bit.

No offence but you shouldnt be driving that at all, your spring has come out of your trumpet and sat on top, thats why its compressed like that. There is a good chance you could loose all suspension on that side.

Other than that it looks good

nope that is the way it sits on the hi-lo seat. The spring is flat most of the way around but it has to lift like that. Just a bad picture angle. Here you can see it. One on the far right

Might be worth winding them all the way in to see whether the spring will uncompress a bit.

I don't understand what your gonna acheive by winding them in. The car will be sitting on it's arches. The only way the spring will open up a bit is if the car sits on it's bump stops and the hi-lo's go loose.

Seems to me like the springs just aren't a high enough poundage for the weight of your car.

What rating are they?

well as the weather is now nasty and the roads are horrid I thought it was time to get the mini in the garage and stay there till it get's nice again. Will give me time to get a few things done. So went out and found a golf 1.8 GTI that I've always wanted. Got it for 100 notes  without tax or test and had a dead battery. Lucky the battery was on warranty so got that changed for free. Put it through a test and was well supprised that it passed first time. So insurance and tax and it's home. Well happy. The only thing is I'm getting stung with tax. 6 months is more than the car is worth. Never mind. The only real prob with the car is that the alarm is going off at random times. So if anyone is good with old alarms and can help please have a look in ice and security for my post and help shead some light on how to kill the dam alarm.
