I think that ABS and TDK have a good working relationship and use each other's stuff quite a bit. AFAIK David Kimberly (TDK) owns the Fra Mini (shells, beams, trailers etc) and Meguiars rights. I picked stuff up from his house before and he has several of his own cars and lots of bits and pieces. He told me that he used to use Curley stuff when he raced miglia's but found that when he wanted stuff urgently, he couldn't get it, so he started making his own. When i ordered my front end, it was made to order in about 48 hours and ready to collect.. and was half the price of anywhere else.
Loads of the parts on both web sites are the same pictures, i guess if you combine manufacfturing, you split the set up costs and start making a profit sooner. I would deffinatley use Both TDK and ABS, not only for the products, but because of the service you get.

I am using Carbon Weasel for some stuff too.... but it's a one off :trooper:

PS, loving the orange.

cheers for that biggav hope that helps people out.

More work today. Got the front all wired, got the passenger door done. Got the cage in but not bolted and got the rear lights working. Also smashed one of the bulbs in the new number plate light :( Here's what the grille looks like after dark. Not too clear with the camera but you get the idea.

gonna need some hi-lo's soon me thinks. K tomorrow I just need to put the rear and side windows in. The windscreen, dash, carpets, seats, side repeaters, boot, high level brake light, seam finishers, door cards and then start to find things like the tent. Better get up early I think.

what a day. Did an easy 12 hours out at the garage only coming in for a pee. Oh and a quick trip to autorite to pick up some new window seals. Thanks to spenner we got the windows in after much shouting and finger stabing. Was a nightmare. Has to be the worst job of the lot so far. Took it for a shake down after it got dark as that was when we final had it to a drivable stage. Had no washers, wipers, dash lights, fuel and the list goes on but it did well. Must force myself up early tomorrow to finish off a few things before the rivrun. It's going right to the wire. Lots of pics to follow after the run.

SEE YA'LL IN A FEW DAYS YA HEAR.....

Well it made it there and back with only a few niggles. One being when I filled it up before meeting everyone on the saturday it leaked out the tank into the boot and stripped all the paint  and soaked some of my stuff. Then found it had gone through one of the seatbelt holes onto the back seat area and stripped the paint and bitumin which then went on our stuff in there. Nice. But we got down there and she got loads of attention which was ace. Even had bikers knodding and giving the thumbs up which was ace. On the way back she started to missfire up the hills and die. But nursed her home. Only happens when fully loaded and hot???? Will have a play and see what can be done. But a 500+ miles shake down run aint bad at all.

Silly question perhaps, how do you access the boot?

He made a rather cool internal release mechanism.

Hat off to you chap, looks brilliant, especially that flip front, damn.

Thnak you. i love it. Just gotta sort the paint out with a new spray at some point and will be very very happy. The runs still ain't dry!! It's red hot here too so what the hell is going on. Yeah the internal release is shown earlier on the thread. Works very well I must say. Gonna get some of those bonnet lifter struts fitted to the boot so when I pull the release the boot smoothly drops down to a good point. Will look, as they say "swish"

bloody electrics :w00t: wired in the alarm. Connected the battery and the indicators flashed. lovely i thought. it's working. So closed the doors, blipped it and nothing  The unit clicks but then nothing. No LED, chirps or indicators. No locking doors either.

Now i got wires everywhere and don't know where to start. All seems connected up right.

I've got the joy of this when I get to the end of my project too :|.

Not masses we can do to help without the model of alarm, but then you compremise your security. Good luck with it chap, retrace your steps and make sure everything is just right :).
