mine too was from med. they fitted a new ring gear for 50 groats. just for reference.

yes, helpful indeed. did you balance yours when u put it back on though? i take it that it needs balancing every times the fly's taken on and off?

I temporarily removed the topic this morning, whilst I checked following your comments.

I'd like to rescind my earlier comments! After looking a bit more carefully into how the pre-Engaged starter works it seems you can get the pinion to engage the pre-Verto ring gear. My bad =]

On previous attempts that I'd been playing with it I hadn't connected the terminal that throws the worm gear forward, hence why it wasn't engaging!
