This does look and no doubt will be amazing when done, I really do admire the fact that you seem to have really planned how you want your dream mini and then have everything made to order

Any idiot can build or have built for them a show mini built with off the shelf bodykits etc Or indeed just have Zcars build them a full on bike engined car and indeed they could win many trophies and have great satisfaction and this I can't fault the owners for, but to me even though you admit you aren't doing the bodykit etc yourself your still spending the time thinking of how it all should be and not just browsing through a pretty catalogue

Good luck finnishing it and like everyone else I eagerly await the next lot of pictures

Wayne

Thanks Wayne for the kind words. This is my fourth show car and I definately go into everyone with a vision. Sometimes it changes (it always does) but the vision is the same. I also know when to farm out the job. I know what I can't do myself and this was one part I knew I was over my head, but I had a lot of input on the design so it wasn't like I left it totally up to someone else.

I will post up more images as soon as I get the car back from the body shop. Shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks. It's coming along nicely is all I can say.

just spent a few miniutes looking through your build for the first time
looking good so far
ive a few comments to help you regarding the front end set up as the wheels and tyres are big on there and you need to get that right
have you got castor camber and toe guages or can you get them easily
you need to set up the front and rear suspension correctly before cutting the arches out and i see the body kit you are making is quite involved it would be a pity to build it then find the tyres dont clear because the car sits different after set up
we run half a degree of negative camber up front, with 3 to 3.5 degrees caster and just toe in or parallel
at the rear we run 1.5 degrees negative with 3mm of toe in at each side
can you send me a photo of the front push rod rose joints we have up specced them recently and i think you have the early ones
i will replace if you have

Chris,
These are the only two shots I could find here. The car is about 30 miles from me and in various sorts of disassembly at this point so its not possible to go and just snap some. But I can tell you that when we did the body the alignment was done very roughly but we were at -1.0 camber and made sure we could go to 0 and 3.0 toe. There is significant room to work as I want to make sure I had a bit of room for different tire combos etc.....

Can you tell by these?

What, if anything, is going to go in those square holes over/behind the rear tires?
