have seen some other doors with external hinges and wind up windows but they had quarterlites, were they w&p or something? I take it they are hard to come by?

You may save a few quid but knock more off the value of your car.

Wouldn't it be worth keeping a Mk2 as original a possible?

i was thinking the same thing. you might as well save the mk2 or sell it as they are getting rare now, and go for a mk3 on mini as it already has wind up windows etc.

Well i cant afford to buy another mini and i know how rare mk2's are so that is exactly what i was trying to do. I have had it up for swap on here for quite a while but no-one was interested, so i presumed mk2's cant be that sought after

This is why i would rather make it into what i really want.
