Is tahiti blue a standard cooper colour. Were coopers actually made in tahiti blue?

Yep, Retro_10s is right... you can see the different paints used here: Mini Colour Guide

The one showing (Cooper) Tahiti Blue on that page is our VTEC mini Bluey.... :w00t:

(The earlier Mini Tahiti's were a different shade though)

I might be wrong, but I 'think' the later Cooper Tahiti blue was a pearlescent paint and lacquer....

I would think it's only available in 2K.... but if it's being sprayed professionally they should be the people buying the paint.

Unless you have certificates proving you're a body shop with all the correct ventilation systems, you won't be 'legally' allowed to buy the paint yourself......

Mine came in that colour as standard, it's definalty pearlescent (catch it in the right light and oh my god!). Don't know much about spraying to be honest, sorry.

Have a look on www.paints4u.com. I have recently bought some Tahiti Blue for a front end repaint (eventually). It's a single pack basecoat with a lacquer topcoat and the code is BLVC 965 (car colour code JRJ). Have painted the new bonnet and the colour match is spot on.
I agree with Amy, if it's being done professionally they should be supplying the paint.

My thoughts are that if a pro asks for the paint to be supplied, then he's either not a professional with the correct certificates to get it (he will know full well about all the new regs), or he's looking for a get out clause if the job goes bad....

If the paint decides to react in a couple of days/weeks after the spray job, who will it be down to? Won't be the sprayer if you supplied the paint will it?! :withstupid:
