they are not as common as other alfa seats but do come up for sale frequently ,cost me £150 bargain i think , i browsed many seats and styles before picking these as i think they were the most retro looking and go well with my door cards .

as for fitting had to adapt the runners using steel to fit but not too difficult if you are handy with a welder

regards dav

£150 is a steal if you ask me! I'll be keeping an eye out for a set for sure, definitely want to fit some in mine. I'm thinking they'll look really well with a gloss black dash. Are the rear seats from the gtv too?

Thanks mate! :) eBay detects I'm in Ireland and doesn't always show everything from Britain so I missed those. Even if I had to spend another £150 getting them brought back to life by a specialist it'd still be worth every penny. You've got the gears in my brain turning big time now :D

Can anyone explain how they have fitted their MX5 seats? I've ordered some but would like to know how to fit them.

Hi,

I've built a frame offering a similar folding mechanism as the std. seats and bolts to the original mounting threats:

One the seats, I had to grind off the angled bit at the ends of each slider and drill out the pins that locates the seat in the MX5. Those holes I've used to bolt on the seats to the frame.

Unfortunately not, everything evolved in my head and whilst creating them. :)

I have my pickup. They sit on the generic frames available from most mini spares places. I'll get some better photos.

Here's how I've fitted my MX5 seats. Beautiful they are too!

Very much recommend them. I got a bargain at £80 but the seem to be £300+ on eBay!

Loads of room in the back too as they're nice and thin and slide around easier than my old recaros.

EDIT: Just noticed the old photo of the front brackets - I've used larger ones now that fit into all three of the bolt holes.

I have trawled through about 20 pages and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for! If I am to fit non standard seats (mx5 or similar), do I just buy the seats or would I be better buying mini subframes as well? I have no fabrication/welding skills so the solution needs to be a simple as possible (a bit like me lol).
