If I've understood your question right - no, not mounted to the stock mounting at all. It's two bars mounted to the floor running in parallel to the crossmember. Bolted or welded to those it's a u-shaped bracket underneath the runners. I might be able to find a picture, will try to post it tomorrow.

Pictures would be great.

But I think I got you. Thanks =)

This one's the best I've found. I haven't used a full bar underneath the runners by then, later it got replaced by a one piece bar.

Thanks exactly what I was looking for.

Hi, I had a 1994 cooper with the mpi seats in, sadly sold the car and bought a 1993 limited edition 'Italian job' mini, but the seat are killing my back, what seats could I put in that are comfy but will give people in the rear seats reasonable room and easy access?

remove base , remove pads from rear upright , the sierra seat upright needs slight alteration at low level to fit buy the bins then fix these to the standard upright (this will no longer fold ) will require a 2" gap trimming in boot area between sierra seat and standard rear board

,the base was removed and recovered using the sierra leather (this still tips to access battery) so not too difficult to do

These are my MX5 seats, I thought the speakers in the head rest would be a good idea, and save the kids ear drums when sat in the back, but there Kak!!!

Access is achievable, but in truth its not easy for an adult, however for little kids its easy, the issue I have is when I slide the seats forward it clashes with the centre console, Design floor on my part >_<! without the centre console it might be bit easier!!!

Jvc do speakers that replace the existing ones. You just have to cut a wee bit of foam out. They sound really good. 1 st thing I did when I got these seats and I would highly recommend it. Thing they are about 40 quid and it is a very easy thing To do. If you want the exact ones pm me and I'll look them up for you. But I agree the original ones are rubbish

Access is no more worse than other Mini seats to be honest. Plus they recline back which is a bonus

Recaro LSB seats.

Mounted on original recaro sliders and custom mounts with spreader plates through the floor. Access to the rear is great and room inside for 4 grown people, or a few babies in the back as you can see.

Excuse the steering wheel, its a work in progress.
