Has anyone mentioned Rover 100 (late metro) seats?
They are comfy, good side support, a doddle to fit, they flip (3 door ones), have a massive front to back movement and they are small enough for a mini.

By small enough I mean they are not too thick in the backrest, so they don't kill rear seat room. And. They are not too wide! So you can put them in a position where your passenger isnt shoved up against the window, you can get your hand down the middle easily to recline them. And when they do recline they dont just recline a bit and then wedge against the companion bins. They actually recline!

and their size looks right! and the covers are a simple pattern so anyone with some scissors, a sewing machine, some new material and a brain can re-upholster them however they wish

Here's some in my old tatty City I had a few years back. These are in their original metro trim.

This is probably why Rover used these seats themselves in the MPI coopers. Look!

These look more like 928 seats to me. Most seats from porsches around that time are very similar but 928s have the distinctive centres. Have you got the electrics working?

Honda civic 4 door on an 09 plate, they fit fine but the way i have mounted them means they touch in the middle slightly, they are extremely comfy, covered in suede, reclinable and people can still fit into the back relatively easily, cost £50 from a local scrapyard

I've just installed a set of black leather recaro seats from an Audi S3 in my Cooper. Boy are the comfortable! I wasn't sure they'd fit, plus I'm 6'4" so they need to placed properly. Clarke McDonald at McDonald Minis cut the Audi subframes off the seats and fabricated a new frame to match the mini's connection points on the floor. A superb job. There's not much room for back seat passengers but hey ho. What a difference. I may even wire up the built in seat heaters for winter.
