Mike. They fit really well from the pics with great access to the rear.

Nice find.

Hey, hope someone can help/advise me!
I have a mini mayfair, I have bought some classic cooper front seats for my car and just wondering if they would fit in easily like taking the old ones out and fitting the new ones or would I need a new subframe?
Can get some pics if needed,

thanks

Tasha

Assuming you have the brackets on the crossmember, any mini seats should go straight in :o

What seat tracks is everyone using on non-mini seats? Want to change out my seats with something different, just don't know where to start. Thanks

I have a question about standard seats: was there a mounting change for the MPIs? i hav early 90's seats, tehy have the same mounting as 59 on...

I have kids, so would like to be able to access the rear. the standard seats suck for that anyway, so i was thinking MPI era seats becuse it looks like you can get out of the back without asking someone to pull the knob out (hehe)

if i do that, i may as well get some rover seats because the are more plentiful and cheaper (and probably the same) so at that point its just about seat rail fabrication, something i have done loads of times, but a good starting point whould be helpful.

it looks like the mpi seats mount to the old seatbelt bosses, is that right?

MPi seats have the same mounts on the crossmember. The back folds forward via the handle up on the side, and gives good access since you don't need one hand holding the seat up. The pull out knob tips the whole lot, but I find that gets in the way more unless you take the headrest off. I'm pretty sure Rover seats both mount differently and are larger. Also rear access seems better in my MPi than it did with the bulkier SPi seats. Hope that's of some help!

yes, that was totaly helpful... I think my seats are early spi seats, and they are bulky, and sort of uncomfortable..

This is my Mini Seat, i've purchased last autumn on ebay "KAWI Trading", it's large on the shoulders but they're in leather, recliner, and very more comfortable respect the original.
I've purchased a pair of meter of same cloth to resell the posterior seats and the door cards....all new, total cost....280 € from GermanyIMG_4563.jpg IMG_5187.jpg

I have rover seats in my car, I have some 6mm steel "L" brackets, they go into the existing mounts and bolt to the standard rover runners. Then bolt a box section through the back of the runners, See my project page for more details, and all will become clear.
