Someone was asking if it is possible for fit BMW Mini Seats in a Classic Mini. Yes - I have done it! I have fitted a pair of John Cooper Works Seats to mine and have been very surprised. Access to the rear is easy and I can easily get into the back. Not massive amounts of legroom, but this is a Mini! And I must say that I find them VERY comfortable. Heated too!

These are the seats...

And here they are fitted...

I dont have any finalised photo's yet, but will get some to add here!

The seats look smart and the shape should suit well. Be good to see pictures when done.

Would these version of the MX5 seats fit in a Mini ?

Posted Image

880mm high, 500mm wide and 635mm deep. (Take all dimensions to be +/- 10mm!) From the front of the backrest to the front edge of the seat is approx 500mm. From the bottom of the headrest to the bottom of where the backrest meets the seat iis approx 575mm.

Advice appreciated as I have been offered a pair in black for cheap and they include built in Headrest Speakers too, I hate my current bucket seats and would like something a bit more refined/comfy.

yes, these will fit- i've got them in mine

just saw mx5 seats in the elf in mini mag this month and have convinced me to buy some:D
what subframes did you use to fit them?

Acura RSX seats fit. I cut the frames out of them and lowered them by about 3 inches to sit lower and reduce weight. Still have plenty of access to the back seats if my rollbar wasn't there. They are also very comfortable and have the option of being heated

I would imagine they will be out of a ZR, i know mine are anyway. Therefore the seats will tilt forward. The ZT seats are slightly wider IIRC, and won't tilt forward as the ZT is a 5 door.

If you are going to use MX5 seats, buy some out of an import (jap spec) they have speakers built in the headrests.

Not a question for me...sorry, no clue. I'm sure there is someone here who has fitted MX5 seats.
