Would a seat from a Mitsibishi Evo fit in or would it be too tall? Has anyone put one of these in before?? OR what about Subaru WRX seats?

I dont know if anyone is interested but I came across this website in my seat searches: http://rallynuts.com...s.asp?ctid=2304 Thought it might help.

Has anyone made or thought about making their own fibreglass seats??

What is the standard practice of fitting non mini seats? do most people use the subframes on the new seats and fabricate brackets to make them bolt to the standard fitting points? I have got a set of Pug 205 GTI leathers that look nice. Anyone know if they will fit without too much hassle?

so all you asking, measure, and see if it fits. simple.

MGF seats fit very nice... the 2003 ones are the best as the bolster suport is much better, they sit very low and with a slight cut out you can make them tilt.. they also have rear pockets for maps or junk.....

The Evo seats are Recaro jobbies and are identical to the ones that were in my Accord Type R, they're very wide so i doubt would fit in a Mini, even in the Accord, they were quite close together. Same goes for the Subaru ones, a mate of mine has a Primera which is now going down the touring car replica route, but he did go the classy look with it, and had a set of WRX seats retrimmed and mounted on primera rails, they weren't quite as wide as the Recaro's in the Accord, but they were just as tall, again, i think you'd struggle to fit them

To be fair rudeboy asked what seats fit in a pick-up which I very much doubt that has been covered on here in any detail. You can't fit seats that recline too far or ones that sit too far back on the sub frames and you need some that you can easily lift up to get at the spare wheel and battery if you are keeping them in the original place. I don't know what seats fit in a pick-up but I'm sure some of the ones that are listed here that fit in a mini don't. do a search for pickup and you get people selling things they don't want to post and hardly anything about mini pick-ups

After a few searches this is the only topic I can really find where the question has been asked, but no-one answered

asking here for what will fit in your mini is not going to get you any answers. as demonstrated. why dont you use initiative and get the measurements of the seats that have been retro fitted in this thread, and the seats that you can get aftermarket for the mini, and measure the seats you want to fit. and go from there.

you can fit any seat you want in a mini, it all depends on the measurements of it. my dad has told me of him once fitting aircraft seats into a mk1 cooper s (this was in the 70s). yes they fitted, but there wasnt any rear access

so all you asking, measure, and see if it fits. simple.

Doesnt hurt to ask does it? some one may have tried before and would there fore know! so...asking what seats will fit might just get you answers!

no, but once youve been here a while, you will understand how irritating it is when people ask the same question over and over again. specially people who cant be arsed to use the search function.
what i was simply doing was writing that, so there isnt a million pages of people asking if certain seats will fit, when all it takes is a bit of measuring.

If it annoys you mate, dont read it! The forums here for people to talk to each other and help each other out!

wait till youve been here a year and a half. then you'll understand.

OK mate if you say so!! No ones making you come on here and read the stuff!

By all means ask any question you like. It would be more effective to start a new topic, though don't be surprised if the first person to answer doesn't suggest you look through this one. The object of this topic is to collect information about seats that will fit - it defeats the object if you have to scroll through masses of questions to find the useful information - I've deleted these posts for that reason. You could always search, Bora+Mini and see what comes up... and if you do find the answer elsewhere add to this thread to share your knowledge ;D
