You know, you ought to stick some dummy wheels on the front too, then it would be perfect!

That is a great read (even if the mrs has fallen asleep waiting for me to finish it) definately Madness/genius, the two are always sooo close.

My one piece of advice for you and any other mini goers tho is never buy bolts from B and Q. They are the same company as screwfix, and the bolts from screwfix are a quarter of the price if not less ! Paying £20 for bolts from there, for £40 i got everything from M3 to M12 all in bags of 50 or 100.

Anyway back to your trailer, good job that man !

It is quite cool but very illigal to take on the public road, the max BRAKED mini tow weight is 404kg with a max hitch weight of 40kg (official rover figures), considering the original car was between 715-735kg (model dependant) i doubt very much its under 404kg even with the lightweight panels and its also not got brakes, with the wheels at the back the noseweight will be way over the 40kg max for the hitch.

Dont get me wrong i am not knocking it as its quite cool and took alot of imagination and work however the max tow and hitch weights are there for a reason and the police will look at the official figures not hearsay or generic figures on the hitch.

Interesting, I'm looking at my British Leyland handbook and it states a few things different to what you're suggesting:

Firstly the weight figures you give are different,... In my handbook the weight of a manual saloon is 640kg, and theTowing weight limit is quoted as 406.5kg
