Expanding foam is not water proof even after the outer skin has hardened. it does become water logged and act as a sponge. as one of our competitors found out to his cost of a multi million pound contract and 3no 5 week old ptz dome cameras. Ouch

Weeeeelllll Pie my old bud - on the 'new' roof I'm fitting, there is an arial hole. Hmm I thought perfick for mounting my miniature colour camera and with 2 1/2" lcd screen on my dash, I can see traffic behind me. Therefore need cable for that - so am piggy-backing on trailer cable.
Whose sad? - not me, techno gadge man me.

Shout from wifey that she had an intruder in lounge so went to investigate. What I found was my son Mike (Nine inch snails) had his latest work in progress to show me.
He's getting ready for Milton Keynes event (Collector Mania) on May 24/25th - hoping to raise money for charitee.
Anyway back in projectland - La ******* had 1st sight of new bumchum as I needed to take precise measurements aka roof.
They seemed to hit it off although when I sat on floor of trailer, roof fell on my head and clipped my shoulder (La ******* 2 living up to it's name. )
After some cutting and grinding finally got roof to look at least 1/2 presentable.
Will weld and clean up during week after work - next weekend being bankhoolyday will be able to do a load of stuff. Watch this space.

I thought you weren't doing the roof chop thing at the pillars?
I was indeed going down that route 'miniboo' until I saw what was involved - too much welding.
Therefore Plan B into operation and chop off pillars to match - really tricky today 'slicing and dicing' pillars to size. Again not an easy job at all, must be fairly accurate with window & door orifices although I am going to be using dark blue tinted perspex, (sexy ) which I can trim to size.
Tomorrow finally weld it up and start seriously prepping shell for primer - this weekend.
Been on fleabay again and ordered some ultra high gloss american lacquer/hardener + some panel wipe. Will be getting 5Ltr of high gloss thinners on thursday.
Its all happening now, and of course in 2 weeks time - the BIG paint session will take place. Getting excited now.
PS. 'Tomf' Can't wait to finally see your green monster @ BH2N this year.

Mixed up high build grey primer and thinners 1:1, got all dressed up in safety gear/ airline and had a good squirt at the body work. Sanded between coats and >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Now getting quite excited because even in grey, it's starting to look the dogs danglies.
More to follow and of course next weekend I'm off work for a week to do loadz o'stuff including basecoat (Arizona Blue Metallic) and High Gloss Lacquer.
