Went to collect this yesterday, along with a full stainless powerflow system.

When its fitted i should be able to mock up where the rad will need to sit and then get the mount made up for it.

Also took the crank pulley off and cambelt so i could start stripping down the oil/water punp end of the engine. So that they can be replaced when i change the sump.
No pictures as yet, but i should have some tomorrow.
Did all of this after a slight mod to my hairdresser car

Ive removed the engine from the car and mounted it up on an engine stand so i can repaint it and replace some bits before i get it running in the new year.
So far ive stripped the rear side of the engine back to metal and repainted it:
You can see a little of the original colour here.

Cam Cover off so i could take the cam pulleys off.

Just painted and now im waiting for it to dry

List of things i plan on replacing:
Cambelt and tensioners
Oil Pump
Water Pump
Sump and gasket (for a steel pan)
I was also going to check the big end shells and maybe change to ARP rod bolts.

Not much of an update, but things will start to move forward hopefully.
Ive removed the clutch and fly wheel from the engine. Now i can get onto inspecting the internals to see if anything needs to be replaced.
Ive not got a new oil pump to fit also a full top and bottom end gasket and seal kit from SBD.
List of things still needed for the engine.
Water pump
ARP Rod bolts
Steel sump
Themostat
Cambelt
Possibly new main and big end bearings
Something for fueling and spark, but im working on that

First of all, took the sump and all the bearing caps off, to see if eveything was ok, and found this:

Il be having the crank reground and replacing all of the bearings obviously. So i took the crank out.

So then i took the head off to see what condition the bores were in, again not great news:

Scores on the bore.

So now to add the the list of things to buy, i need a new set of pistons, a rebore and a crank regrind.

The next thing i need to do is refit all of the bearing caps and see if any of them have been damaged/bent. If they have il have to look for a replacement block.

ooooh nasty mate, the engine i got has had a head rebuild, but like u i have to check bottom end, don't give up mate, your doing really well,no one can be bothered at the mo so dont worry.good luckMeasured the crank this evening and the journal that had the knackered shell on it measured 4 thou down on standard, all of the rest seemed to be within 1-2 thou. Almost all of the journals had a score of some sort on them though, so im hoping i can get away with a .25 regrind.
The next thing i need to do is refit all of the bearing caps and see if any of them have been damaged/bent. If they have il have to look for a replacement block.
