ok, a small update for you. I had a go a rebuilding my N/S hub but the cv is welded to the bearing, so the bearing is ******* so it needs replacing.

Im off on holiday to le mans tomorrow, so definitely no updates for a while.

Not really much of an update, but im bored. Stripped the other hub off and should be shot blasted tomorrow so i can get onto replacing the bearing and ball joints and then painting it up. Ordered a few little bits from minispares so i can get my top arms bolted up properly.

Shortage of funds is holding me up now though, i could really do with finding an engine so i can A) Get it positioned so i can weld the bulkhead box in and B) decide what wiring i need so i can sort my custom loom out.

I had a go at a very crude drawing of the dash i hope to make at work.

Hey fella... just a comment... if you still want me to help out with a loom next year then don't go buying a fusebox without running it past me first!

I do actually have a bussed fusebox and an 8-way one which could go into it.... hmm....

great project, all looks great.

one thing though... you need a diagonal for an FIA cage, thats only a "rally" saftey devices back which isnt FIA approved.

dont no if you were looking to compete it atall?

mint project thought!!!

No im not looking to compete in it, the front half of the cage is what i believe to be fia approved (this was made by roll centre i believe)

Is a removable diagonal available?

noooo, only if you buy a 'removable diagonal' safty devices rear.

looks like a safty devices front, you could always flog the back and then buy a new rear section from minispares or something with a fixed diagonal, i think they have a sticker on saying FIA approved or something :S but the safety devices 'race' rear section is what you after.

hope it helps :S

thanks for letting me know alex, much appreciated. I suppose i also have the option of buying some cage tube and welding in a fixed diagonal (or 2) into the rear.

uh huh, not sure if FIA cages have to be welded by a certified company however... you will have to ask someone else for that one!

cheers, al
