hi mate have you got ya sub frame yet any more progress. have you found a gear box? :)

James, i did think of that, but ive been looking for an f18WR box with a hydro clutch so i could use a willwood pedal box. Do you know if its possible to convert the f16 to a hyro clutch?


i don't, but i'll put a question on the 16vmini forum.

It is possible to convert the hydro clutches.

Really bored, so ive drawn up a to do list. Hopefully i may get some of these crossed off in the next few weeks.

(PART 1)

Collect Subframe and bracebars from allspeed
Fit subframePurchase suspension components, including coilovers.
Source and Purchase engine
Repair corroded hinger panels and fit a panels
Fit flipfront
Fit suspension
Patch front corners of floor
Replace sills
Finish securing rollcage to floor.
Remove remainders of rear valance and boot floor, fit carbon fibre boot floor, new hinge panel and rear valance.

Hopefully il be able to do all the jobs in that order, but we shall see.

Went up to allspeed this morning to see rob, it was christmas come early.

Got loads more to buy from him, but im short on cash at the moment. So the other bits will have to wait for now

I didnt fit my frame as it kept raining on and off, so i had a go at cutting out my flipfront.:

Little more progress over the last few evenings:

Top suspension arms loosely fitted to frame.

I also replaced the balljoints on one of the hubs and got that painted up, but have no pictures.

Hopefully will get the few bits i need at himley tomorrow. The i should be able to fit the top arms to the frame properly.

Nice progress Mike!

So, what happens with clearance around the master cylinders? Can you use the normal brake MC? Then convert to cable clutch? Me confuzzled!

Il be using a willwood pedal box with the MCs inside the car infront of me. The vauxbox does use a cable clutch but i will be converting it to hydo.
