After a few pointers from freinds and fellow minsters...I'm thinking about putting either bonnet straps or bonnet pins on the min!

I like bonnet straps because they're more retro and in line with the current style
I like bonnet pins....well...they're alrite' just a 2nd choice really :genius:

I've been looking at black bonnet straps and chrome/alloy bonnet pins!
I really need some good advice on this one!

cheers

I used two pieces run up either side, and around the back to meet in the middle, keeps water out too

Ooo I feel another spending spree coming on :genius:

OK I see you're prolly going for straps. Is this on a lift-off bonnet or are you keeping the hinges? I find the lift-off with a quick-release grille is great for ... er... well of course I don't need to get at Huey's innards a lot :P but if I DID ....

These are the retaining pins

yeah should be long enough. one thing I will say is avoid having the metal plate too close to the bonnet or you'll take paint off every time you open it. Oh and something to stop the buckle scratching the wing would be good.

Oh and the brown leather starts off really bright orange but dulls down after a few weeks
