Do you mean how much my front end assembly weighs? I've not weighed anything yet.
OR
How much weight is on the suspension components? none, as the car is resting solid on timber blocks. The coil overs aren't on yet but its my intention to run the car as it looks right now once all the weight of the tank, rad etc.. has been added.
Cheers,
Les.

I've got the car back home now so I've got no excuses for not working on it.
Its changed a little, I've got a shiny new Z Cars Race front subframe on it now.

I still might have issues running the ground clearance I'm after but we'll see in a few weeks when its on its wheels again.
I'll be busing running my water pipes and fuel lines over the coming weeks.
The plan is to start racing this year in the Z Cars series, it starts in March but I'm hoping to see my first race around June.
Still lots to do!
Mocked up a rear quarter panel today, will hopefully start the new moulds this week.

Cheers,
Les

It looked like you had put a lot of thought and work into the previous sub-frame, but this looks like it's the better way to go.

Looking great Les!
It looked like you had put a lot of thought and work into the previous sub-frame, but this looks like it's the better way to go.
I figured the last thing I needed was to bin the car whilst ' testing' my own subframe so opted for the tried and tested method instead.
Been busy on the car this week. Have now got the front attached properly and fixed the rad and tank in place. My doors are all on and lined up, just need to extend the internal openers.
Here's one for you Jim:

Got them on today, really pleased with them - thanks!
All my silicon hoses are on order now too so full steam ahead this week.

I've been wondering about how to fix my doors I got from you, How have you done it? Are you just using standard steel hinges?
cheers,
timbo

Hi there mate,

Hi Timbo,
Yeah, just use your original hinges. You'll notice that the holes that you need to drill out are already pre-marked for you. The hinge area on the doors is very strong so you won't need to add spreader plates like some F/G doors.
Any probs just send me a pm
Cheers,
Les

All got to be in time for Avon Park July 11 & 12th! (I hope)
Been quite busy with work so keep putting the body prep off, just got to stonechip and seal and then it can be painted.
I'll get some pictures up soon

Since my last post I've stonechipped, filler and prepped and now painted the shell (sort of):

In the last picture you can see the Black base coat running down the sides of the car. The upper White base coat will be applied tomorrow night.
Inside has been stonechipped and then black base coated.
We had a slight issue with using cellulose on the outside and then trying to pull a mould off it so decided to complete re-flat/strip and paint with 2K paint.
Ordered my steering column through Z Cars today so just got to mount that and then I can send the frame to be powder coated. Car is booked in at Tony Law Exhausts on the 18th June

Progress will be flying along now as everything is pretty much pre-drilled and trial fitted so re-assembly after paint shouldn't be long. Still aiming for Avon Park 2009 July 11th/12th.

More progress yesterday/today;
Had to put a hold on the powder coating of the frame until we had welded in the column arrangement. All done now though, just a harness bar to finish.
