You could start with MiniSpares, plmini, dsn classics, minimail. Depends whether you want to plug holes or protect cables.

Futher afield, Maplins do sets

Actually if anyone knows a good supplier of various general purpose grommets I'd love to know too! I can't count the times I've had to use something old and perished or open out the hole to a different size. Wiring grommets seem particularly difficult to come by but I've found myself missing certain blanking sizes as well and it's getting worse. Maybe some kit car parts suppliers might be helpful? I've bought blanking assortments from europa in the past but even they weren't good for everything.

Good question!

You can get them from any electrical wholesaler. Edmundson, City electrical... etc obviously they arent meant 100% for cars but they are the same and you can just ask for the size. 16mm, 20mm 25mm etc...

If I know the ones you mean then the problem with the household grommets is that they're really just meant to stop the cable chafing in the hole, they don't grip or provide any kind of weather seal so you're probably better off punching a hole into a blanking grommet in that situation.

Thanks for pointing me to autosparks starmag, I'll definitely get some stocks from them when I start the build-up on the estate, I've had some wiring bits from them once before. That selection covers a lot of situations but I'm pretty sure there are more types of grommet than that on a mini! hopefully not everything on the estate will be perished to hell like on the last one!

I managed to replace nearly all the rubber grommets on my car when i rebuilt it using autosparks, all were a good fit and are still doing there job now, the only one i couldn't get from them was the large grommet that holds the main loom which passes throught the bulkhead so i just re-used an old one

Yeah, I guess a few of my problems were due to it being a heritage shell. And a retrofited longbridge heritage shell at that... so there are a few weird late type features to the metalwork.

vehicle wiring products in ilkeston do grommets, they also do a good boxed set of assorted grommets, there is a link here somewhere, they do delivery too
