yer they are group 2's and my wheels are 5" wide and fill them very well, might get away with another half an inch, but the police might think differently....
i seem to have no money or time now do do anything on him, and winter weather means i dont want to work in the cold!! i still have an ampers, volts, oil pressure and a clock to wire/plumb in, and i think the next job is a rollcage.
i also have a 1098 engine, and im thinking of getting a 1275 head and some twins on it so theres always something to do!

ryan showed me how to wire in my spots too, but the flash isnt working... nor is the horn... hmmm!
well i now have lovely halogen headlamps, they are ace, i would recomend them to anyone still on sealed beams!
sealed beams:
halogen:
the bean now has some arches and his alloys as you all know the police didnt take too kindly to his wheels sticking out!!
went to minisport today to get some new wheels bearings... lol fitting them tomorrow, i also got some gaskets for my tappet covers as me and my dad think that is the source of the oil leak, along with those i got a t piece for my oil presure guage.
im thinking of sticking with my 998 as a guy i spoke to said the 1098's rnt as good, so what would you suggest i did to my engine? i have an LCB and 2" centre exit exhaust and an alloy inlet manifold, and thats it!

whoah,... big sweeping, generalising, and unlearned comment there.
What he probably means, is that the 1098's don't rev so high as the 998's. this is because of the Longer stroke. Other than that,.. they're absolutley fantastic engines, Nice and torquey, pull all day long in all gears. My bog standard 1098 clubman used to smoke a bog standard carb cooper 998....
I can whole heartedly recommend fitting a 1275 head on the 1098,... also,.. if you fancy it,.. fit the SW5 cam,... This and the head really open the 1098 up and use the longer stroke wonderfully.
It will absolutely fly with the head and cam combo,.. will be a belter!

haven't updated for ages!
lots has happened!
i fitted some blue mudflaps on the back and i have still to fit the fronts. pics will come when im all done!
i changed my front wheel bearings and had to change a driveshaft as the hub nut thred was beggered, and so it wouldnt tighten, it got slack again as it got to the end...
i found out that the rotor arm bushes had gona in my distributor and it was vibrating, causing the points to never be set right... i was out every 5 min setting them! so i got another distributor ad fitted that.
i took the bean to minisport for a tune up and he runs really nicely when he is hot but runs lumpy when cold... i have still to take hime back to them so they can have a look. he got 47bhp at the flywheel and 31 at the wheels, im pleased with that as he's standard apart from an lcb.
i went to bingly hall and got some switch extensions, an early '71 steering collum and switch panel, and a 5th gemini alloy for a spare. im hoping to get the collum and switch panel in over half term orat easter, as im sure it will take longer than an evening to re wire them into the 80's loom!!!
well thats all for now!
