anyway all i can say is WOW, your project is very impressive and a total inspiration to get my own mini, planning to get one as a first car at the end of this year / beggining of next.
Not being rude or anything but roughly how much do you think you spent on him? as i want an idea on how much it might cost me to get one up to a similar standard.
thanks
Alex

hello, i am a total newbie to this forum and everything (hope this is the right thing to put a post on),

hey Alex! thanks for the comment! you must have dragged this thred up from like page 10!
i have no idea how much i have spent on him to date, but including buying him, then getting all the new bits and and getting him painted to MOT'd must have spent at least £1500 if not more...
but i would spend more on him if i needed to, because frankly, to me there isnt a better car! get a mini for your first car, they are the best cars for first ones, you learn so much and they are so much fun to drive!
hope this helps!
Love the car and the model keep it coming
thankyou very much!
i do have an update today and it was urprising seeing him at the top of the first page!!
well sad news.....
one of his bonnet straps has snapped this made me very sad as i couldnt find any for a replacement, and i had to fasten down his bonnet, so a very careful trip to minispares, money spent, and a very careful trip back, followed by an afternoon of working on him left me with this:
i do like the hooks, and the pins look really cool, but now he just looks all plain and sad
soon though he will be getting a re-spray, im very excited! but thats a big secret
also, he will be getting his new engine! all i need is a cam then its ready to go back together! big changes for summer

Mate sorry to say,nah 1100's aren't fussy... and they rev just as freely as a 998...

lol
they dont rev as freely or as high, its impossible, you have an increaed friction level from the longer stroke, there is no way they will rev as freely as the same level of tuned 998.
