a NOS rally switch for like £2.50, lol and some Yellow bulbs!!
i also got my cosmic arches! WOO!
then i went to huddersfield mini spares to get some indicators and i also got some bonnet pins, i got the chrome plated bulbs so that as waddy said, 'they wont look like fired eggs' lol
i then found some brackets for mt boot pins to mount on
and as i fitted those, waddy cracked on with the brace bars, which didnt fit properly... tisk... he got them to fit in the end with a persuasion hammer... lol
waddy also dint like my white brush on hammerite so he sprayed them black... lol
did a bit of trimming where the wings meet the scuttle and its hard to get it to sit right... bit more fettling and it will be fine!

You going to spray the arches? I'd say leave them as they are

before everyone arrived i prepped the front ready to bolt it on.
ground off the excess left from the wings
and took off a bit at a time to get the wings pretty flush to the scuttle, im quite happy with how they turned out!
then everyone arrived and we got the rivet nuts inserted to the inner wings.
time for an ice cream... lol
then the VDub boys (waddy and maurice) decided that they were unhappy with the non-stainless bolts i had bought and so took me to a place in town where they got me the stainless bolts up to their standard! lol
these were then used to bolt the front to the inner wings
and then the wings to the a panels very cleverly with tiny locknuts and countersunk heads! it really is amazing how solid the front is, just by those tiny nuts and bolts!!
maurice and me cracking on with bolting the thing down!
then maurice left so me and waddy got to work on other bits, like fitting the headlamps and indicators, which had to have an earth soldered on, courtosy of waddy, the straps were fitted and the Speedwell badge was also fitted a little differently....
Waddy in action
looking more like a mini!!
ooo that badge looks sminty!
more ice cream... lol
then it was done!! WOHOOO!!!
just need it painted now! i really like it in white...... might have to get a respray...! lol

Really nice work on the front, but why didn't you opt for a hinged front rather than a fixed?
