Yeah started at 6:00, finished at 9:30. I guess I left it about 5 mins between base and lacquer.

erm 5 minutes before applying lacquer??,, doesnt it need longer than that, or have u got it in a proper booth???

Yeah I have a proper booth at work that I use. I think it says on technical data sheets that you're meant to leave it anything between 5/10 mins between base and lacquer, I just put it on when the base seems dry, usually takes about 5 mins, never had any problems, I'd leave it longer for silvers and light metallics though.

Pete, is it just basecoat and clear?? My mates mini is in basecoat and clear and it polishs up so well without effort.

Yep, basecoat and clear mate. keep it waxed and it stays shiny for ever! plus it won't suffer from UV damage, like solids always do.
