am fitting (or trying ) to fit new bumpers overrider's and corner bars to 1990 mayfair, purchased from wood and picket so would assume good fit but the corner bars are touching the rear lights has anyone had same problem, w&p told me they are genuine bumpers but also told me to move overrider round on bumper to give more clearance but then they sit at an angle rather than upright

Mine are W&P bumpers, overiders & cornerbars. They are very snug & make it a nightmare to clean the lights & bit behind the bumper.
The should fit without touching, but you might have to change the angle & poke them outwards slightly:

They are not supposed to be fitted with Mk2 on rear lamps, they are only actually designed to work with Mk1 lamps (being a Mk1 part after all). So they will never look exactly right. Also they hide enough of the reflector to make it too small to be legal so you should really fit other reflectors but nobody does.

You might also have to move/replace your rear fog.....

I believe W&P also do a longer S/S bracket for the fog light to make this a simple job.

also, there is the possibility that the flange your bumper is mounted on is not quite in the right place. think about it, the over-riders are on the bumper right but still leaning backwards so maybe the bumpers sitting wrong. time to bend the flange a bit ??
also fully agree with what Dan said, rear over-rides are meant to be on Mk1's only
