How Many Turns Do The Track Rod Ends Need To Go On?

My question is: is 5 1/2 turns enough to make it safe? is it far enough on the track rod?
I only ask as i see the longer track rod ends on minispares and wonder if i need them?

I think for steel the depth of thread should be at least equal to the nominal width of the fastener - e.g. a M10 bolt needs to be screwed in by 10mm to realise it's full tensile strength.

Think so, there are some basic rules for threads:
I think for steel the depth of thread should be at least equal to the nominal width of the fastener - e.g. a M10 bolt needs to be screwed in by 10mm to realise it's full tensile strength.
no what hes sayin is measure the width of the inner of the track rod or the width of the threadded end
and aslong as the trackrod is on by that much its ok.......that is if that ^^ is true..!
also is it lowered? if it is or even if the cones are just worn it will be lower and should be fitted with the long track rod....
