Shell is now solid!! the rust is gone for now.
Bodywork
Finished blending in seems into front arches.
Top of scuttle around windscreen repaired
Holes above rear subframe mounts repaired
All holes in all panels grinded, welded and the fillered
Interior fully sprayed ready for final rebuild.
Whole body rubbed down, filler primered, rubbed down, primered etc etc etc........
Basically all the parts have been stripped and refurbed and all it needs is the final top coats then rebuilding over the summer when im back home in the gloriously sunny dry weather!
i would upload photos but have just noticed that it will not allow me at this point in time. hmm, should really create a photobucket account.

bet you had to refill the gun every 10 blows!
Lol, yeah we did but luckily you can do the whole side of a mini in 10 blows . It's our favourite (Only Working) gun,

The fury dice were from my neighbours 9 year old son as a birthday present lol.
Well managed to get another day off so more detailing done today. Started off with some light wet and dry work followed by three stages of maguires polish but not happy with the results (Even though its been sprayed on a dusty drive using a tiny spray gun) so out came the good old mir and four coats later and im getting close to shiny smooth panels.
Managed to get the fresh rollcage back in and started fitting some of the seals and lights. Lots of chrome cleaning and polishing ahead tho.
Bonnet and boot need to be redone due to some crazing in the corners and the doors still need to be finished.

Started to modify and mount the front headlights and indicators converting them from sealed beams to halogens and then putting new heatshrink around all the wires to make everything watertight.
Reworked and wired the metro steering coloumn controls.
And then just when i was getting back into the swing of things i became very ill.
Turns out that my friend managed to give me swine flu, cheers mate and due to my large previous medical history it was rather bad.
Anyways im on my 5th day of isolation at home with enough pills to kill a small horse but hopefully should get the ok around tuesday so can get back to work and then back to the mini.
Hopefully pictures soon
